But question is what would look better on a Silver A4 S-Line? I'm torn between using matte Shadow line tape or Black Plastidip.

Which do you think would look better?

Whats the tape like?

dip is good, that's what ill be doing when i get round to it to match my front grille.

Was talking to a lad who had it on today at VW Fest and he said the tape goes on OK with a bit of patience, must admit it looked good on his black s-line. Little unsure about how it will look on my Silver one.

Although its got to be better than my milky fake chrome look at the moment.

Where do you buy the tape? Might take a look

Guessing once taped up it will need trimming, potential for damage?

Only found it in the US so far with $12 shipping came to $32 so about £20 I presume, looking for UK suppliers now I'll keep you informed

matt shadow line
easy to fit stays on (clean trim good first)
and looks better than dip.

Nice sharp knife easy enough to trim back when I've used other vinyls before

I have bought some shadowline tape.

With window surround chrome, how do you get it to stick when you fold it over the edge and underneath the chrome trim?

Cotton wool bud or something?

Can you get it in the UK Bez? Can only find the American site at the moment.

Too much chance of damage, would be pretty easy to mess up. Plasti-dip is the way forward

Ok so the tape arrived from the link above and I had a quick go with it on one of the pieces of trim, its goes on great with a little heat and is fairly flexible if you take your time with the hairdryer and an old credit card. I left about 3mm over hang above and below and used car/hairdrier to smooth it underneath.

Hoping to do it properly this weekend so will post pics on Sunday night if the weather holds out.

On a side note I used the number plate LEDs reccomended on here and it showed no warning lights and they look a lot better than the bulbs.

Did mine today with the tape above, very happy with it. Not very sure how long it'll last as I had a wee bit trouble finishing it at the ends of the sections, think washing etc might might cause it too come free but time will tell. Main objective was just to see if I like it black which I do so will probably get it professionally wrapped now.

I wrapped mine couple month ago and the tape is still on, sadly it wasn't the best of jobs so corners are a bit rough and starting to lift from where it hasn't stuck underneath.

Possibly dip next
