does this mean a new EGR is needed

blank it off

It was meant to have been mapped out and so was blanked off. However was still getting this code when blanked. Person who mapped it blamed the egr being faulty which is what I couldn't understand.

I don't understand that either - if the EGR has been deleted in a remap then the ECU shouldn't be trying to operate it. Has it been blanked out but not deleted from the engine map?

It was meant to have been deleted properly. I told him it must not have been but he just fobbed me off. The company who did the map said that if the egr is faulty then it will flag a fault. I told them how can this be when it's meant to mapped out. ****ing useless they are.
i also don't understand why it still needs plugging if its meant to have been mapped out.

anyone answer the latter

I'm under the impression that if it's been mapped out then as far as the ECU is concerned it doesn't exist, it doesn't try to operate it. With regards to blanking it off, I think this is done if the EGR is physically left in situ because there's no point having air circulating round redundant pipes (even though the valve won't be operational).
