How about some Domino Rally, if that doesn't teach kids patience nothing will.
i built it up so many times, to knock it with my hand near the end and watch half it collapse. Grrrrrr :wtf:

And good old Simon, I think it was mentioned in an earlier post, used to dig on this as well.

Those bikes are ace!!!

I had a good selection, a raleigh mag flyer, i think it was called, then a racer, a couple of other BMX's, my bro had a grifter and a chopper too, prepare for pain if the brakes fail on those tho!!!

Does anyone still have any old skool BMX's??

Ive been after one for a while (at a decent price).

Does anyone remember these?

yes mate! i can! i was one that did this lol!
tear a big strip off and just hit and hit and hit! lol! many times it did not work as the cap was destroyed by the brick!
a really bad ratio of bangs per roll! lol
can anybody remember devil bangers? like rizla papers twisted to form a little package full of gun powder or something that you used to throw and explode with a bang?
probably banned now though! :(
oh the good old days!

***edit! they do exist, but called 'fun snaps' now! how odd! ***
Devil Bangers Case | Online Joke Shop

I bought some these for the boys not that long ago as I could remember them from when I was young but they never got them. I opened them all up took everything out and placed it in the finger of a latex glove and what a bang it makes.

Awesome thread! I can't remember the name of my first bike but I do remember it only had a front brake, I know now that the rear brake was activated when you stopped pedaling but try explaining that to a 4 year old. I also remember going down very a steep hill, using the front brake and turning myself into a human dart. I got a big boy bike with rear brakes not long after that.

I'm hoping MASK and Centurions make a Transformers-esque come back with a movie. The CGI available today would make for an awesome film - just don't let Michael Bay anywhere near it!

Don't forget Lego either, back when you could make anything out of a set of random blocks as opposed to today when there's that many custom bits you can only make what is on the box or very similar variants of it

Yes Brodster, thats exactly what I mean, the old Raleigh Burners.

I would love something like that but the prices for some are just so ridiculous!

I'm sure the majority of us all started on Duplo though, which would have been even further back in the day? lol

Then moved onto Lego...and obviously some Meccano.

Edit: because I totally forgot about Stickle Bricks! lol

I must have missed Duplo, Lego was the first of the two that I can remember.
Meccano was awesome!!

Will this be ok as something we played with when we were young……

It’s a 1970/80s Snow Sledge!! :cold: :sly:

Given the nature of this forum I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Scalextric yet. My brother and I got a standard set for Xmas with F1 cars included but my prized possessions were this
Mp911
Martini Porsche 911 Turbo

and this
Tr7
Triumph TR7

I used to race them against my brother for hours on a rainy day who was using this
Mexico
Ford Escort Mexico RS1600

Top effort everybody, I bet your using some off the old grey matter you thought had long gone, I know I am!!

Big up to Kwistof for remembering that old Tomy toy, that was the nuts!!

That totally reminded me off these, I thought I was the cooler than a penguins penis :cold:Check out the graphics, Wow, no expense used. Lol.
Loving this old skool vibe.

i had Othello - much easier playing the puter versions cos i kept missing counters that should have been turned over :-/

aside from games, here's ablast : anyone remember the Dr Who collectable cardboard characters you'd get in Weetabix etc? there'd be a strip of about 4 i think (more in the bigger packs i think) and there was a simple game baord printed on the back of the packs that you used them on.

i also was mad about the PG Tips trading cards (yeeeeeaaarrs ahead of the current trading card fad, lol) and collected crip packets (Tudor!!!!) to get some Flutterbyes and Wear Em-Scare Ems!!

edit : fk's sake, i've just calculated how old i am :-(

Since we're getting close to the release off the next Gen consoles, a little reminder where it all started.

When your riding your Grifter, playing Scalectrix, rocking Connect 4, building your Stickle brix or watching Centurions

Yup, Campri stuff used to be big up here as well, Ski wear for up the High Street, who would've thunk it??!!
I'm a bit off a Sneaker Freak so it's good to see some off the old styles again.
I've still got a pair off these, they were re-released for the 20th anniversary, God I feel old sometimes............
