Facepalm Moment

I think this is a cracker and compared to the problems we can expect from used cars, its certainly not an issue with a new one! (i do have the dreaded rattle but that's another post!)

Was lightly dusting the instrument cover and thought "oh bu**r, there's a scratch just over the fuel gauge!"

But, upon closer inspection, it wasn't a scratch..........it was a human hair, grey in colour, about 2" long, and sitting on top of the fuel gauge, underneath the perspex screen!

I had to look twice to see that i wasn't cracking up! I'm fussy when it comes to marks around the cluster, but in this case i think i'm prepared to let it work its way down as the miles increase, i hope! I don't want the garage pull it it apart for something like this

You could just image the conversation with the service desk "is it a head hair or a pu*ic hair Sir......as it will affect the removal process!"

Glad you like it! I'm just glad it's not one of my hairs, upstairs or downstairs! I thought of using a hairdryer to try and coax it out but knowing my luck i would probably melt something important !!

Other than that i'm having great fun....just need to get the rattle sorted at some point, no rush !

Stop it, lol@thought of you using a hairdryer. you should have come to the Scottish Car Show to let us all see it. Im sure it will move given time. x

I know! I only spotted the pube, sorry, foreign body the other day....maybe you could run a survey to see if any other 8V have bonus pubes in the dash ???? OK, i will stop now as i'm meant to be getting oil out of the ground instead on PMSL at this subject

Colour .
Length.
Diameter.
Curl Ratio.
Unwanted visitors clinging to the hair.

I can see how you might have thought you had scratched the dial cover. Does the hair actually protrude out of the dial cover at the side to which you can use tweezers to pull it free?

SJW: Unfortunately said offending "Rubics Cube" is fully undercover so no tweezer option....but it will be winter soon here so no worries about my Silver friend getting on my nerves.

Mark: Thanks for the compliment, Billy C has some great lines for sure so its nice to be compared. One of his best motoring ones was about a Robin Reliant to which his Father tried to fit a "NHS Prescription Windscreen" to it...more of a visual gag i guess....keep em coming as this is cheering up my day!

Just tap the plastic or knock it like you would on someone's front door, this usually makes debri fall to the bottom, could remove the clocks & take the fascia of & get a dyson in there.

There it is, been looking for it for ages! BTW FEA, thanks for letting me spend the night in you audi after i tested out those pills for money.

I can take it back tomorrow, seeing the pills gave me elasto-arms as a side effect.

Alternatively this could be a massive bonus, with modern DNA procedures, you could use this, If you can get the hair out intact (Thats the really tricky bit) You now have the DNA of a Audi Factory worker, so you can clone him, keep him in your garage and he can keep your can absolutely tip top condition !
There might be some slight ethical and legal issues but i think it's got potential !

Ok, here is what we do, we get the hair removed, we use the dna to create our own personal audi person. Lets make one thing clear, no mankini's in any colour are allowed. I think for you guys, you can have Jessica Simpson from the dukes of hazard movie, bikini, small shorts and cowboy boots to wash and ummm detail the car. For us ladies, i think we will have a choice of Jason Statham from the transporter trilogy, or Vin diesel from the fast five movies or Hugh Jackman from wolverine. I think thats a fair deal all round. What you think?
