Hi just replying to this and my 1st time on hear or any forum.
I have a 2006 2.0 TFSI 225 S-Line full spec. I have changed the front to the 2011 S3 Look, My problem is with the lights as mentioned.
I bought some of them Kufatec adapters that I think are cr4p :rtfm:and a waste of money, what a squeeze getting them in and only the indicators are working. I have replied to this as my plan is to bin the adapters and rearrange the pins to match doing the job this adapter supposedly does and have the space back so you can get to the bulbs. Does anyone have pictures of the plugs ie what colour does what on the headlamps. Thanks :sob:

as i said in the other thread where you posted exactly the same post...

Sounds like you ordered the wrong adapters... There are 3 types... One for the 2004-2008 cars, one for 2008-2009 cars and the last one for 2010+
as your car is originally a 2006 you should have got the first adapter (2004-2008)

as for space when fitting them its easiest done when the headlights are off the car. I have done loads of these installs now and not had an issue with the cables

Hi thanks for the reply Ash187, these are what the German guy on ebay.de said I needed? I think it would be easier and simpler if I just swapped the pins around and added my own repair wires with new clips on. You wouldn't know the order of the wires If I added pictures would you? I'm off to Barcelona in a few hours but will reply Friday when Im back. Thanks again.

Hi Ash, the headlights I have fitted are nEWER than 2008?

yes those are the newer headlights but the year of the adapter is based on what year the car is made... people often get it the other way around and start looking at what year the lights are made lol

if the car is a 2007 and it is facelifted to have the new 2011 headlights then the 2004-2008 adapters will need to be bought as thats what the car is and thats what the adapter is wired for.

will be doing the exact same in a few days did you get your adaptor from kufatec direct??

yes as they are the ones that have the 3 different ones listed. there is one on ebay but that one has is only for 2004-2008 cars

Do you know the location of the wires ASh if I add the pics of my plug, what goes where, it only takes like 20-15 mins to push pins out and in. Thanks :blackrs4:

Its not working, I noticed the xenon main bulb has come on and was flickering rapid, when I look at the adapter iys like there is a couple of pins that are not meeting with any other pins? Im sending the cable back, thats why I would rather wire them now, I think that the light come on because the recognised it had xenon before and has reset itself after so long, I have had that happen before on cars that have had a previous feature.

Isn't kufatec supposed to be a simple plug and play mod bar the cables for the drls and coding I do think think you would pay £49for the harness then have to mess about with pins and stuff

Did you code the car for xenons?? Sounds like a coding issue

the fact the it lit up means the wiring is fine

it had xenons previously but older type, I haven't coded anything, all I have done is plugged the adapter in one side but I will be removing it to send them back as I am going to change the pins around once I know what goes were.

Well you can't blame the company for your fault in buying the wrong adapters? They wouldn't be selling them if they were all wrong, would they??

If the car had xenons before then you shouldn't need adapters!
What setup did you have and what are u trying to achieve?

Yeh I suppose hope mines not as bad as this:confused:

The lights are totally different and wired different even though it had xenons. I have gone from 2006 to 2011
I am trying to get the new lights to work as they should only they have drl also now. I will add some images tomorrow. Thanks

The adapter itself.

The xenons come on and indicator, there is no low beam, take it they are drl and the flash works? I havent wired the yellow wires in yet.

without connecting the wires and coding you wont get the xenon shutters (high beam) or DRLs. Also you may run into issues with the xenons as the power sent to them wont be correct without the coding

Not yet, how are you getting on?
got the indicators and main beam on and a strobe light when you flash lol

i just ordered my adaptors from the same people you got yours off so i shall see when they arrive how long did yours take to arrive and did you have to pay import tax?

No they are coming from part of the EU only usually USA and China, they took a week ide say.

Just added a couple of pics of how mine are at the moment. The 2 wires are not connected yet but the other day messing about the DRL lights come on? I have a DRL switch I was testing, don't know if it was when I had that plugged in but that doesnt work to well as it is lol

So do you think your harness is incorrect??

I haven't a clue, no help on hear so far? Maybe once the 2 yellow wires are wired the drls will power, when they come on the otherday though I had plugged in the old original xenon light.

there isnt any point in trying to test an adapter if you havent plugged it in properly? plug in all the wires and code the car with the right coding and you will see that it will start behaving like it should do.
if you dont plug in the wires or code it then there will be issues and of course it wont work properly... thats just common sense

Actually now that I think of it isn't it supposed to have two yellow cables on each plug??
