Am gradually getting the hang of everything but wondered how you take the parking brake off when the seat belt isn't clipped in. Just wondered how the garages get on when it needs to be pushed about without a driver in the seat unless you just move it forward slightly under power then just don't re-engage the parking brake. Once the parking brake is on and the red light displays the only way I can see to take it off is to drive away (assuming you have the seat belt on).

Incidentally, every now and then, the brake fails to release automatically for me when moving off. It's totally random and ****** annoying when it happens!

Mine's the same! Like you say it's ****** annoying. Also the red light often goes out on mine about 10 secs after applying it, only happens occasionally.

It's a nightmare if you've got OCD like I have!!

I had this a few times in the three years I had my A4 avant.

Not had it with my A3 SB yet, three months old and just over 6000 miles!

Foot on brake, flick switch down.... or, take up drive to clutch bite point then flick switch down.

Strangely enough, my experiences exactly. Is it that we've developed a 'knack' for it or just lucky?

That's some mileage you're doing too.

You're quite right - that's what happens when you read the post in the email and forget what the OP put!

Easily done... especially with the length of some of these threads and the straying :sign_ot: we all do so well! :icon_thumright:
