As title says, my central locking pump packed up a few weeks back so after putting it off through not having the time really to do it or justify buying a new unit and getting the key code etc, so whilst I was working away from home last week eBay became a good friend lol and found a unit where the guy had a water leak and fried the electrics to his, so took a chance as it was only £10 inc postage, came home last nit and this morning the unit arrived.
had a spare hour late this afternoon so thought I'd give it ago.
Pleased to say what I done has worked
( new unit )

Image Cut the wires from the motor to the board, had to do a temp fix so twisted the wires together and then used insulating tape.
put it all back together tried it and it worked perfectly so very happy now.
I will be getting a soldering iron to do a better job of the joining of the wires and use some of the rubber you can get that shrinks when you heat it up to protect it.

Must say I'm very happy with this repair and all for just £10.

Nice work! I'd try and get the heatshrink that has adhesive in to help keep the joint in one piece. Not that soldering comes apart but everything helps.

Yes heat shrink that's what I was meaning lol, I prob would still solder them as well. But must say that I'm happy that it all working again.

I wasn't suggesting you didn't solder but just the heatshrink with adhesive gives added strength to the join that's all. It doesn't make a huge difference though.

Hi Guys
My pump is throwing up a fault codes which states 'likely to be leaking' and has been for some time so I need to change it out, but do you happen to have the part number from the unit you removed to help streamline my search for a replacement.

No probs if not, Cheers
Ian
