S3 in estoril blue will do nicely me thinks bet you regret the S5 snake Nd end up with a s3 long term

Great minds think alike (or fools seldom differ!) - I also got to over 54000 euro, then converted it in Google to £46377 !!!

If the pricing follows the initial driven reviews we should be getting much better value for money than in Europe :)
 
Someone correct me if i am wrong, but are the sports seats on the german site the direct replacement option to the mean looking ones available on the 8P? If so, then they are nothing on the original RS4 ones with the piano backing.

On the German website a basic 1.4 (122ps) manual looks to be 24,400 Euro, which is £20,763. The list price in the UK is actually £19,205.

So I'd guess that a 38,900 Euro (£33,102) S3 might end up with a UK list price of just under £32,000. Still, spec'ing up to £46k might be possible.
 
I almost bought the Estoril blue S3 they had in Edinburgh Audi last year.......what a beautiful colour. Didnt go for it in the end as they weren't prepared to give me any discount whatsoever even though the car had been sitting for 3 months. Went for an Ibis White one instead which I got good discount off.

any one willing to shed some light on the seats available? No true buckets available in the 8V?
 
Haven't seen any only sports seats I've seen are the diamond stitched versions!

might only do buckets for the next RS3

Looks absolutely stunning !

This really is the new sprint / sepang blue 'wow factor' colour for sure.
 
Brief but generally positive review of the s tronic S3 in the latest Top Gear mag and scores 7/10.
 
Im not sure what the situation on this thread is as I can't be bothered back tracking and reading it. Got an oil change at Audi Blackburn on Sat and they said S3 orders were available. They also had one of these SQ5s
 
Order book still isnt officially open yet Ben. Some time in June apparently. What some dealers have been saying though is people can register for an order by paying £500 but spec and pricing isnt yet confirmed.

Who knows, could even be this weekend!
 
Regular A3 delivery November in another thread !

For some reason Audi are swamped in orders for A3's or there is some reason for delays.

This may further impact on the order books opening for the S3 and certainly availability.

Would expect this to impact discount negotiating too, so will be interesting to hear what 'deals' people do manage on the S3 considering the general position in Audi with A3's and with the S3 being a brand new model.
 
yes will have to consider all this Snake at the time order books open!

perhaps the wise approach may be sit tight and play hard to get and be prepared to wait a few months and go for a March 2014 delivery after all !!
 
To be fair Toad ... if the S3 manual is £30,500 even with zero discount it's still good value IMO.

Maybe but if I have to buy a car without being able to test drive it and it's going to be over 6 months before they can deliver it to me, I'd like something in return!

I'm hoping for an S3 sportback for March delivery and I'm beginning to wonder if I'm asking a little too much of Audi!
 
Considering all the positive reviews it would not concern me at all blind buying the S3.

you can get a good enough feel by driving an A3 and then old shape S3.

thats just me of course but can understand those that would prefer to drive first.

Just saying I believe the S3 is a safe bet and won't disappoint.

Its what i want too but im going to wait till the mad rush is over and maybe good discounts will follow! I will be happy with next march or even next september im in no rush
 
audi upgrades
The Audi s3 AND s3 sportback are now on the German and French car configurator and available to order in these two countries. Soon the UK?
 
Current A5 Sportback owner considering a S3 Sportback... I aim to have the car in March/April 2014 and was originally going to order in November. The way things are looking I might need to get to a dealer in September. My A5 was a February order picked up in May a few years back.

Anyone got any suggestions of when to order?

Typical Audi order time is 3-4 months, like you've experienced before. However, some people are waiting longer than that for A3's, never mnd S3's yet.

I'm wanting a car for October time and i'm finding it very hard to go coose Audi, simply because the delivery times are all over the place.

Get advice from a few dealers by all means, but I'd suggest a september order would give you about 6 months for delivery, whic i'd hope is enough. If it's before March, they'll always hold the car a few weeks while you wait for the 14 plate.

Car magazine gave it a generally positive 4/5. Only real negative being a slightly uninvolving drive, but the interior, engine, chassis and all wheel drive more than make up for that.
 
The first 3 door S3's will be delivered to customers on the 01/09/13 Sportback first delivery on the 01/11/13 those dates are from an audi dealer. I also have the full uk specks which I will up load later today.
 
Got this emailed from my dealer this morning.

Finally new S3 available for ordering…details on line, Production starts on 22/07/13 so earliest deliveries are then likely to be late Sept/October. That would be the same for any demonstrator as well

Does anyone know if the S3 sportback is avalable with a towbar or can u add one to the car?
 
There will probably be an aftermarket one even if there isn't one on the options list, but it might not integrate with all the car's systems in the same way

Good to hear they're finally getting there! I don't suppose anyone has been given prices of the S3 specific options (Audi Magnetic Ride/LED headlights/seats)?

Nope, sorry. This is all I have at the moment. I'm seeing the dealer on Friday but hopefully, the configurator on the website will be up by then
