Hi all wonder if any one could help me i am after getting more bhp and torque to my a4 without getting it chipped is there ways of doing this

Hi Ash92, Well you don't "Chip" anymore not since 1988 sierra cosworths! anyhow it's just a reprogram of the ECU flash memory loaded via the diagnostic socket. So it's not eproms having to re solder into the ecu's PCB. But this is the most bhp & lb/ft per £ you'll get. 2nd is possibly remove the cat for a de-cat pipe or at least a sport cat. Air filter is recommended i'd say just a performance panel replacement till you get serious would be fine. but still any mods you do need the software tuned to suit to get the best out of any mods.. this is because the default tune is set for the â¬uro emissions standards and not max performance.

Can I ask why you are against an ecu reprogramme? There isn't a great deal you can do to improve the stock performance on a diesel without software upgrades. My first thing to try other than software would probably be using a better grade fuel for a few weeks and see if that helps.

Having used the DTUK box on my old GM Zafira, I would heartily recommend you check them out. Size of a fag packet, takes 5 minutes to plug in and out, adjustable programmes and power settings and fantastic service from the Company.
