I've got my replacement turbo and silicone TIP now looking at changing it this weekend, any tips/advice from experience to make my life easier?

cheers jay

Just be sure to prime the new turbo with oil, and be ready for the fiddly 8mm hex bolt that bolts the support bracket to the block its always gave me grief, make sure you have some oil to put back in as if you dont drop the oil and you realise that you cant get to the return pipe bolts at the turbo and only the sump the oil will go everywhere if you havent already drained it so word of advice would be to drain off the oil and also the coolant so that the job isnt caked in oil and coolant as you go along unbolting things.

Yeah I'd planned on dropping the oil from the sump so oil change was going to happen, how long did it take from start to finish? Only ask because I only have Sunday to do it.

Ive done full turbo swap and manifold in about 5-6 hours but that was on my day off (done the job in work) wear time wasnt an issue and was the first one ive done on a 1.8T so was pretty much trial and error of what to take off and what not and way'ing up how to approach certain things and with numerous cig and brew breaks lol

Yeah I can feel a whole load of coffee/fag breaks! Do you know the part number for the larger oil filter? I know it's been talked about a lot just on my phone and the search thing get on my nerves. Oh and 5w40 oil is the one to go for?

Cheers for all your help lads!! It's going to be a fun Sunday for me
