Gents,

After veiwing a thread on here, i was really impressed with the outcome and cost to make it happen.

So i call my brother who works in a bodyshop and got him to order me some black spray paint, then friday afternoon after work i whipped out my interior trim, came out really easy and good for me i didnt break anything :) Headliner came out sweet through the back doors i was worried about it creasing but no drama

Saturday morning i had all the trims in the garage for paint, few coats were put on, headliner took a few tins but looks real good, seen as the sun was out a laid everything on the front to dry

I was going to leave the fitting till sunday but i offered but the headliner just to have a sneak peak, then a just thought might as well refit it all now while im not doing anything.

The re fitting was a bit tricky ill be honest but a bit of shouting and swearing later it was all in sweet, bit of advice if anyone does this the paint may rub on refitting but just touch up spray in the car once fitted and everything is all good.

Comments welcome as always :)

It wasn't that hard to take it apart then? Did you need any special tools?

What spray paint did you use?

I take it the head lining looks OK? No clumping from the paint?

Looks a cracking mod and big improvement.

No special tools just torx bits real easy to remove some bits were bit fiddly but that was expected.

Just used normal matt black paint on everything, thin even coats so didnt get no faults in the paint clumping ect. The roof looks spot on such an improvement, to anyone with gray roof lining and trims id highly recommend you do this

id call it 4 hours or so in total and £15 for 5 tins of matt black

cheers pal, well impressed with it.

off to see a local retrimmer av been recomended see what the damage is gunna be LOL

You will be ok as long as you have deeeeeeeep pockets lol

I know mate thats what worries me but its a guy that does it in his spare time he did a lads leon fr for 400quid and it looks real smart from the pictures ive been sent, but obviouly wanna go down and check the work ect

Looks as good as the audi liner ... is it not hard to the touch or anything? Ie, less fabric-like?

to be honest pal its not as bad as i thought it was going to be, its still a bit spongy like it was before. Was expecting it to be rock hard but its turned out really well.

I bet most people wouldnt even realise it has had a lick of paint over it

That's a definate bargain at 400 quid, im trying to find someone local to wrap my window trim, damned expensive, charging 300, and interior re-trim is around 12-1600.

You could keep an on the bay for a leather interior, there was one on a few months back for £700.

Yeah its worth checking out, i know ive got the fixed rear bench so there even harder to come by.

My mate does wrapping ect and his price will beat most, but its a decent drive for you lol

Whereabouts fella, i'm often up in Morecambe area visiting my daughters

Ah right the other side, might have to give oit a go my self

on the seat front mine is fixed rear and was getting fed up of them all being folding rear so i bought the a6 s line interior (must be c6 model) ,front seats bolt straight in rear upper you have to cut the locating brackets down a bit on the bottom of the seat then they squeeze in nice and the rear seems a little more of a bucket base than the a4 ones .

got these for £450 and it cost me £100 for 4 door cards so £550 heated leather so not bad really .

How is this holding up after a few months?

still looking as fresh as day one tbh pal, not had to touch up any bits at all, still got a real deep black colour to it :)

that looks really good, and that was the other thing i would worry about, is if it started to flake or anything, you've tempted me now to strip mine!! good job man

I must admit when I took mine out I was ****tin it just in case, but took my time with help from a mate, came out no problem.

The rear quarter window trim was a bit of a pain to get back in, patience is the key lol

Hi Danny
did you use a plastic primer on the trim first or just straight on with the matt black paint
Brilliant job, really makes some difference.

I used Halfords matt black spray, no issues going on, still looking good 3 years later, never needed to touch up
