Hi Guys.

I require someone local to me for me to test a LED that I have designed for the MY2010 cars to be plug and play and error free.

THE CAR NEEDS TO BE A 2010 OR 2011 CAR PLEASE

if someone is able to assist then please write in here and I will contact you, It will only take about 15 mins to see the fit of the bulb and to make sure that error don't come up before I send off for the final mould.

Thanks in Advance.

Would like to help but Scotland isn't exactly local to you!

Hope you find someone soon.

what leds mate? i have a 2010 but as you know im in the land of OZ:(

Chris, i need the car local to me to test the fit etc so i can get the design right before i get my mould made which costs alot so it needs to be right and it needs to cancel that silly error.

This fix will work in the B7 also.

Rich.

Had a B7 over and tested them, seem to work and also keep the error off but the car that came in had a brake light out so was hard to tell as I would of liked a car with no errors.

another member has a B7 and he is going to meet me on weds for another try out and hopefully goes well.

Thanks

Met up with forum member oneniner today, he came in his mid registered 2010 A3 black edition.

The bulb I have made has worked ERROR FREE

I just need to make up the final piece to send to the factory and get some testers made but looking good so far Guys.

This bulb will then work on Any A3 8P and B7 regardless of build date.

Sounds good, cant wait to get some of these..I'll keep a close eye for them being ready to buy :icon_thumright:

Good work Trups, looks forward to seeing the finished product.

Just to clarify, what exactly have you created?
Is it an LED which fits into the OEM housing or is it a new housing containing LEDs?
Or is it a wiring loom which enables the OEM A5 LEDs?

If it is a replacement LED, how bright are they compared to OEM A5 LED and the eBay ones which light up the entire space behind the car?

Poli.

Good question.

Its a LED Bulb that will fit into the OEM halogen housing.

I have designed it so it will be plug and play so you don't have to remove trim panels to fiddle with the wiring.

the OEM LED units have 2 3528 LED's on them, the light is spread out across the plate as the lense is melting for it to aim the light.

I have on my bulb 4 x 3528 LED's evenly spread out on the bulb so we can get the plate lit nicely and as close to the OEM finish as possible.

once I have the bulb back from my mate who does the CAD drawing for me I will get a pair fitted to my car so you can all see the light spread.

Thanks Trups, sounds excellent.
Looking forward to your finished work.

Got hold of a company that sell the part that makes the bulb work error free, ordered 4 bulbs and tested them in a B7 which also has the same problems as the 2010 A3's. All working error free.

i have asked that supplier if there will always be a supply and if it will be the same all the time as if its differant in the slightest it can mess the bulb up.

i am waiting on my bulk buy discount code and will be ordering and sending the final pieces off to the factory for build.

Any pictures of them in the B7 mate?

As per usual Trups a result and they look good, bet you will have a list longer than your arm.

Put me down for a set.

Cheers

Know you know I'm 5 miles away with a 2011 A3, happy to assist if needed.

I'd like to register my interest too.
How is the 2010 different to the other model years out of interest?

Hi Trups, I've been following this thread closely from Australia. Do you have an ETA on when these will be ready for the MY10 8P?

Hi Guys.

Quick update for you all.

So, the test bulb has been in the A4 (a couple of posts up) for over 2 months now and no errors reported back to me, had a problem a week later with the "fix" I put in place to stop the error but I replaced the offending part and no problems since.

The fix that is in place for this bulb is simple and is trick, if it was to go wrong on your cars then it will take you 2 mins to fix if that your self so there is no need to return for a replacement.

The final piece has been made and I have asked for 2 pairs to be sent to me for the end of this week so hopefully I can get them in and if any trimming is required of the bulb then this will be done before I order the 1st batch.

My Aim is to have the 1st batch ready for sale in the 1st week of SEPT. This bulb has been designed to work in the OEM halogen lamp housing, if you have any other housing then this will not fit.

Hours of work have gone into making this with testing and buying parts in from around the world to get to this stage so just bare with me on the last hurdle and I will have this sorted for you guys with the 09 cars, remember this will be plug and play, no resistors, no removing trim to fit resistors etc.

Thanks
Trups
