hi guys just joined this forum to see if i can find out what maybe the cause and fix to a ever so slight vehicle shake through the steering wheel and also feels like its going through the vehicle as you can feel it on the passenger side. under acceleration does get worse but after 40 mph it stops ???? have new tyres all round and balanced. can anybody advise...

Do you have Quattro?

It maybe that a newly fitted weight has fell off the wheel, being a nearside wheel its subject to manhole covers and potholes more. Id check that first, hopefully its something as simple as that.

maybe could be issue. not checked weights. there should be 2 sets on the wheels top and bottom opposite to each other . is that correct. if its not this what other reason could cause this problem...

2 of the same thread?

Anyway, it's not a case of "should have 2 here and 2 here", each wheel needs to be balanced individually. Only way to check the right weights are on is to get them rebalanced.

okay thanks will look into the balancing see if that solves the problem

I'd still be thinking wheel balancing too. To be honest there are some really good tyre fitters out there now and with the new equipment I have not had a case of this for a lot of years.

It's most likely the balancing as others have said! However if you have front spacers fitted and there not hub centric this will also cause similar issues,

No I mean why specifically mention Quattro, is there a common fault?

Mine was fine until I horribly bottomed out one time...

Could be wheel balancing, tracking, or i had this with budget tyres as they came on the wheels when i got them but i switched a week later and the vibrating had gone
