Painting front grill black , matte / Gloss ?

Hi guys ,

Im getting my front grill painted black and cant decide on matte or gloss , what are the black edition ones ?
 
Decided on the gloss black , going to get the rear valence done too , just booked the wheels in to get refurbed in shadow chrome as well . Ill post some before and after pics asap :)
 
After owning audi and bmw I have left the a4 honeycomb grill I bought matt black . Even though I think it looks better with the gloss border.simy because its sods law that it will be stone chips within weeks.
Always happens . Had my rear bumper painted 3 times in 2 weeks . That's bad luck .
 
All done , went for gloss surround and matt grill , front and rear valence. Just need fitting back onto the car

is the rear valance easy to remove or is it a case of bumper off . might paint it sunday. did the front last week

I didnt do it myself , i had a friend do this for me. Ill ask him tomorrow and let you know mate
 
All back on and looks great !! Hollow - the rear valence is just 3 screws and a good tug apparently . Ill upload some pics later when i get chance to take some

got it ! not a gentle tug ,yank on the ****** thing
painted it today same as front midnight black metallic ,makes it more like a darker lava grey . 3 coats of clear for depth , will be back on in the morning.


morning . refitted the valance today ,bit of advice for anyone doing this , apply a bit of lube down the sides of the bumper where the 3 clips go , makes it alot easier when refitting .

So trying to remove the balance right now...do I tug it towards the car? Or away? I'm struggling worried i will break it...
 
What paint did you use to do the grilles... Mine is starting to flake and that's original...

Any pics of the shadow chrome?

I have a whole S4 but am thinking matt black wheels
 
I just done sill skirts in black to match wheels which sprayed in a pearlesent black . Just waiting for my new powervalve exhaust ordered with black non rolled tips .. .. ill post a pic of rolled tips . You guys got any preference??

Oooh there a tricky 1 .. wing mirror. I know from 2017 they started using black wing mirror on s models .. but the silver wing mirror is a defing thing for me .. its like the original symbol of s badge ..
 
I'm getting my grille and fog surrounds painted gloss black next weekend. They are original but starting to peel. Is there anything I can do before they go into for paint to make it a better job...
