Hi,

I've had a quick search but can't see exactly what I'm looking for.
My problem is, the drivers airbag light is on and the horn doesn't work. I'm lead to believe its an issue with the clock spring however, now and again, if you press down on the rubber/leather part of the steering column the horn will work. I'm wondering if some how the clock spring has come lose... If that's at all possible?

Not sure how to remove the steering wheel but pretty sure there's a guide out there.

Anyone have any ideas or can point me in the right direction?

Cheers,
Martin

i dont know what the part is called, but look at the link could be a broken wire if your lucky, the larger part has a wire coming from that could have snapped and only connects now and again depending on how the steering wheel is positioned

that`s my guess but hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will clarify it

Cheers Mick.

All research points to the clock spring (top right) part in the pic.

Hopefully it will just be a lose wire somewhere.

How do I remove the steering wheel.. do I need to disconnect the battery befote attempting?

i would disconnect the battery, you dont want the air bag to go off.

Does it need disconnecting for any length of time before attempting to remove wheel/airbag?

Anyone in or around the South East area confident doing this? PM me

I disconnected mine and was able to remove the steering wheel straight away when I did my mfsw retrofit

I'm in the south east & work on these all the time, PM me if of interest, I'm free tomorrow possibly.
