Hi everybody,
My first post. have owned Renaults for the last 10 years,never thought about ordering an Audi as I thought they were out of my price range. Well I called into the Audi garage around Christmas and realised that if i had a car over 4 years instead of my usual 3 and because the finance rate was so much lower than Renaults I could have what I wanted for the same repayments.
The car is due in the next two weeks and I am looking forward to my first experience with Audi f. I have gone for the following, my only concern is the colour. Shiraz red! I have always liked different colours but didn't realise how few would go for it until reading this forum, perhaps i should have gone for Dakota grey:readit: Has anybody any thoughts on this colour? Be gentle though please, its a little late to change my mind!

I went for a test drive in a car similar to the one you have ordered (but it had less gadgets.....). It was Shiraz red and it looked really,really smart. The chrome pops out...

my current car is red so I wanted a change and opted for grey. I also had the chance the test vw's 1.4 ACT engine, what audi calls COD. Very. Smooth and peppy.
 
I looked at this colour and thought it looked nice but only saw the SB in glacier white so ordered that! It will stand out not seen anyone else mention it!
 
It doesn't hurt to be different mate! If we were all the same it would be a boring world.... Nice choice

I wouldn't worry - there isn't a bad colour in the range. If you like it, that's the most important thing.

In fact, I was worrying recently about ordering Daytona Grey. I think it's going to be the most popular S-Line colour judging by posts on here which doesn't do anything for exclusivity! My car's going to look just like everyone else's!
 
I popped into the showroom to sort out my collection for next week and there was a solid red SB Sport on display......it had those lovely optional 18" wheels which really do add a bit of class to the car - with bright lights upon in the showrrom, the red looked stunning......not as stunning mind you as my Monsoon Grey which is sitting waiting on collection :yes:


Would def' agree Hittchy I've now seen a fair few colours of A3 and a couple of SBs and can't say I've seen any colour yet that would make me think.........'not for me'


The test drive SB looked like it was solid black but was fairly filthy so not at it's best but no idea of spec \ model as folks looked they were about to climb into it for a test drive.
 
I have a question , why is your name 7 past shilton. You scored 7 goals past Peter shilton or something? Off topic I know, I'm just curious.

I am a mad Luton Town Fan I follow every match home and away and have done since my first match which happened to be Luton V Southampton in 1985
The score was Luton 7 Southampton 0 And in goal for Southampton was Peter Shilton who was the England Goalkeeper
 
Oh right , yeh I know about that game, I've also met Peter shilton at a charity do. Cool, that's quenched my noseyness!

Welcome and nice spec you've got there!

Curious why, when you've specced so much other stuff, you've not gone for either of the sound upgrades. Do you not listen to music in the car? Just curious, not criticising :)
 
I listen to a lot of music at home but only live a couple of miles from work so dont really need it much then.
Most of my miles are done up and down the country following Luton Town FC and I always go with a full car so although we have the old ipod on its not going to be needed as most of the journeys are one big **** take or sport radio stations where the dab radio will come more into play. I did add on audi sound but had to take a couple of things off to bring my payments down to a insane instead of an impossible level
 
When you've picked the car up could you please post some photos? That's one colour I'm seriously considering. I've seen it on an A1 before, but always looks slightly different depending on the car model I find. (way the light bounces off etc)
 
No problem I finally pick it up tomorrow will take photos and have them up by the weekend or before hopefully

Hello, possibly thinking of buying similar specs so would be interested to hear your thoughts on the following 1 year on. Are you still happy with your choice of colour, the panoramic sunroof and the reversing camera or, 12 months later, do you feels that you would change any if these options if starting again? Thanks. I'm also consider the scuba blue, but the Shiraz feels more different.
 
I am still very much in love with my car only regret was not waiting for the higher powered Diesel engine! Ah well only 2 years till I can order my next one!
 
Oh and the pano roof is something you need ha ha not only does it set it apart from all the other a3's out there it's nice when we eventually get some decent weather!!!!

From my extras list I would say that the adaptive cruise control has been the best and most used The auto hill assist is a must and I don't use the handbrake from 1 month to the next brilliant tech
Reverse camera has been used as I back across a path and onto a busy road every day but nothing that bleepers wouldn't normally cover
Sun roof hardly used and for the money would have liked full panoramic as from the inside it's not much more than any standard sunroof. Having the choice again I would of went for the upgraded music system instead of the sunroof.
As for the colour looks superb in the sun but quite flat in all other weathers but I do get a lot of compliments like you say because it's unusual
Love the keyless and the auto headlights full beam but of course you need to be doing a lot of night driving in situations where they are going to be used
The comfort pack and the extra lighting just make you feel you have something a little more special and of course the tech pack speaks for itself

My budget is a bit more limited so I had deleted the keyless option to get the camera, but now I'm having separate thoughts about the sunroof. 7pastshilton, I have seen your photos but do you have any that show the windscreen and sunroof well in the same shot? It's a pity that they don't have a cheaper 'ordinary' sunroof option as well. I'm wondering if the Scuba Blue is also sufficiently dark that it would also lose some of its attraction other than in full sun. More pondering to do! Thanks again.
 
I think in red and white the pano roof is a must but in darker colours it might just be lost if you get what mean! My budget was limited couldn't go over the 29 grand limit so I chose looks with metallic paint, tinted windows and pano roof over the techi stuff! Really happy I did as even with the basic inside bits the car is amazing plus it looks super cool ha ha ha!
