I paid for an audi winter check in mid january which is suppossed to
check the oil levels.

I have just checked my oil level and it was just on minuim!!

has anyone else had a winter check and theyve not checked the levels,
i willl be ringing them tommorrow to see what they have to say as this was too close for
comfort.

Could have used some since then ?

Whats the offer say, level check...or level top up ? Generally its a check, lets say a winter check is £30, and a car needed £40 of oil, would that be included ?

did you get a written/printed report on the oil levels stating they were ok or needed topping up?
They may have advised on topping up.

Normally when audi check the oil you get a print out... Looks like a dipstick and shows how much oil was in there

I check my oil level every 2-3 weeks as if you are pushing along hard every now and then the car uses oil. Do you know how much your car uses? as my guess is Audi will say a similar thing

My point is they never said anything or pointed out anything. Basically they never bothered checking or checked it and never bothered to say anything either way negligence on their behalf

Ive had instances where i have checked the oil one week and had the low oil warning flash up just a few days later.

Cars use oil at the end of the day. It it was checked say Friday and you checked it today then I'd say you'd have a cause to complain otherwise I dont think you will get much change out of complaining to Audi for something they did nearly 3 months ago

I recently had a security update done on my bmw by the main dealer, free of charge. I was asked if I wanted a 'winter health check' for £39.99 but declinded the offer.

When I was called to say the car was ready, I was then advised of it needing new pads and tyres, so they had clearly checked around the car for stuff that needed doing anyway. I guess they want to drum up work, but it did make me laugh that they do it anyway but try to charge for it.

Most manufacturers insist a VSR / VHC vehicle safety report, vehicle health check is carried out on all cars in the workshop.
But they will still try and sell you a winter health check
