Hi! Has anyone tried to get these into a 8P A3? I bet they fit! =)

I've been wondering the same thing for sometime.

The diameter is bigger, so would look rather weird in the dash with a lip all round as such.

Look good bit like a tiny set of rims

Great! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I've yet to see a listing that ships to the states, or I'd give it a try.

I was inside of a A1 today, and the air vents would give the 8P interior the complete up to date together with my 8V flat bottom steering wheel!
so I was measuring the inner diameter to 175mm and that is almost the same as the 8P vents, even smaller! I bet that you can customize the outer rings for the A1 vents to fit in the 8P :sly:
on A1 you close the vents in the middle and not on the outer ring so that can be solid, those A1 ventknobs looks identical to the Navi volume knob :rockwoot:

I've installed them in to my 2008 a3 s line. They need quite a bit of modifying though as they are larger than the standard ones but I think they good

They were from a 2014 a3 s line and yes they are fully functional you can control the direction of airflow and the amount of air coming out of them. I'll try post some more photos tonight

Allright! Please take some pictures from the side so you can see the edges and the difference in size, im very interested in making this mod!

I only have the stronic gearknob, vents and the pedals left for complete interior makeover

Here's a couple more photos they protrude about 2-3mm more than the original ones ( hardly noticeable ) but that didn't really bother me. I guess it depends how fussy you are

They don't look it in photos but trust me they are! A lot of cutting and trimming is involved to make them fit the 8p dash

That it looks easier than it is? Haha.. its a pure modification, not swap. @downtothebone

On the outside everything looks peace & quiet, but on the inside.. That's where all nasty stuff happens, at least I get it!

I'll maybe take this mod 1step further now that I know they are almost the same size

appreciate you've done this mod, great help! :) @Jagtfsi

Yup it was supposed to be an ironic question - if someone says that it needs to be modified and they have done it why would you even bother to question them. Anyway moot point.

You didn't understand me, the problem is that you didn't want to tell anyone how to do it..
And this is a forum where we help each other. You are right, you were the first who did it, congrats!!

Fight fight fight fight!

Naw am joking, They all look nice.

It was not even on the table @alex23, he was giving us more pictures of the fitment when asked. Then there is different standards for different people, some people doesnt matter about the plumbing and functionality. There is multiple ways to make this mod, and this is no hightech.
All info you need is that its possible.

Lol my point exactly I agree your rs3 vents do look good. Watch this space I got 8v dash going into my 8p s3 very soon

Hello Pergan, greetings from Romania !

I have an Audi A3 8P also and I want to add them air vents from A3 8V model. I saw that you made this modification and I am curious what should i modify to make them functional.
It is hard ? What are the main steps ? What i have to cut ?

Thanks, hope to hear from you soon !

I guess that's not just plug and play, am I wrong?
