Hello All!

I am currently looking to buy an Audi A3 Sportback on a PCP, however, before I push the button would appreciate your advice!

As I am in no rush and delivery dates are long anyway I am going to arrange, hopefully, for the car to be delivered in September on 63 plate.

SPECIFICATION

The specific specification I want is as follows:

A3 Sportback, S line, 1.4 TFSI cylinder on demand 6 speed
Daytona Grey, pearl effect
Advanced key
Aluminium roof rails
Comfort package, Acoustic parking system (rear only), Cruise control
Audi sound system
Non-smoking package
3 year service plan

QUESTIONS

1. In your opinion are there any options, which really should be ticked or not ticked for that matter?
2. Does having the Audi sound system mean I will not have a spare wheel?
3. I am struggling to decide on Colour between Daytona Grey and Misano Red, which do you prefer and do you think there will be a difference on resale values?
4. Should I get the S line suspension or stick with the Sport?
5. What are the standard S Line chair fabrics like? Is it worth upgrading to the alcantara/leather?

Thanks in advance!

4. Should I get the S line suspension or stick with the Sport?

I can answer this as on the SB there is no option for sline suspension only option is to deselect sport and have the SE!

Does not effect spare wheel

To hell with resale values pick the colour you prefer, not the colour you think the next owner will prefer!

1&5 I'm sure the standard cloth is very nice but alcantara seats are really stunning in my opinion

I wouldn't bother with non-smoking package - you just lose the removable ashtray. There's no other difference to the interior.

They're selling on eBay for £40 if you don't want it. Or keep it and you've got a nice pen holder for your desk.

Drop Advanced Key and Audi Sound System and add B&O instead. Choose Misano Red. The vids of the Misano Sportback look awesome...
Also as Hittchy says scrap the non smoking pack; it's inferior to what you would get; the Audi ashtray is perfect for coins / keys etc.

I reckon Misano Red may also be a little more desirable at resale time. There seems to be loads of grey cars being delivered! They'll be two a penny in a few years time.

'Ten a penny' lol!

I agree would go red over grey!

Verify with your dealer what kind of suspension it is going to have. I've seen the posts about the S-line sportback not having s-line suspension but sport suspension as standard but better safe than sorry. Personally I would go for the sport suspension. It is the perfect compromise between style (rides a little lower than SE) and comfort (not as harsh as S-line).

One thing I have on my current car and I most certainly will have on the next one is the interior light package. Adds a lot to the 'luxury' feel of the car. It may be part of the s-line spec but if it isn't I would surely add it.

There is sline option on the 3dr but defo not on the SB!

1. Int light pack, DAB radio (think is included now anyway), and maybe tech pack (not sure if its worth the money but maybe I'd miss it if I didn't have it). I can live without advanced key.
2. No.
3. Hardest choice you have to make! Both look fantastic, red for me I thought would be a bit too bling in everyday use.
4. Sport. As others said, s-line no longer an option on SB.
5. Love the seat fabric, prefer it to Alcantara (although I did only see that briefly).

i wouldn't leave ordering too late either as some delivery times can be quite extended. Four months wouldn't be unusual it seems.

I have just ordered my SB and was torn between Misano and Daytona,I opted for the Daytona in the end, but I was torn again last night after watching You Tube footage of a Misano S-Line. It looked stunning I must say, but I will stick to my order. Didn't really see the point in the advanced key, but all options are a personal thing so order what you want and enjoy the car when it arrives.

I know many are suggesting to drop the Advanced Key but have to say once you've had one its very difficult to drop that option even though its £425!! which is top heavy, I presently have one with my A6 & with the weather we are having at present just keeping your keys in your coat & pressing that Start/Stop button (which is a good enough reason for many to opt for it!) is a godsend & the fact that if you have many keys on your fob its the jangling of them in the steering column that is equally distracting...keep the AK and if you're able for an extra £100 you get sensors front & rear!! Have fun great colour choice.
