When I was placing my order recently the one thing I couldn't find anywhere were pictures of a Sportback in Daytona Grey. Plenty of red, white or silver, and the odd black one, but definitely no Daytona!

Well.....I eventually found 2 photos of one being tested for a Norwegian car website, though it was an S-Line it looked like it had the SE suspension and was definitely on smaller 17 inch alloys. So I emailed them and asked if they had more photos. They were really helpful and sent me these:

Not only an S-Line, but on the standard sports suspension (I believe) and with the correct alloys.

Hope this helps others who are trying to choose a colour. Clearly they aren't as artistic as the launch photos that are everywhere on the net (check out http://www.caricos.com/cars/a/audi/2013_audi_a3_sportback/ for high resolution images), but they are good 'real world' shots even though they don't show the car from many angles.

I think I've made the right choice......Daytona all the way ;-)

Great pics! I have also ordered a Sportback in Daytona Grey S Line trim. Car looks stunning!

What sort ov money is the new S line sportback ??
Are you buying the 2.0 diesel ?
Are they still making the quattro ??

Thanks for posting, I much prefer the Sportback.
Daytona S3 Sportback please, hurry up and release!

Very nice, I think the sportback is nicer than the 3 door and will temp me back into an Audi next year. I will wait for the auto to be released in 20tdi form and may even consider the more powerful Diesel engine when released. Anyone know when these variants are to be released ?? Grey or Misano S-line for me I think.
I do still really miss my S3 and after some brief spells in other cars over the last few yrs I still hanker to be an Audi owner again, fingers crossed.

Hello Mark, What are you currently driving? I made the switch recently from my S3 :icon_thumright: and after a visit to the Moving Motorshow (before Goodwood) sat in just about all the smaller cars there, settled on an A1. I made sure it has lots of toys to keep me content, I do miss the power, but not as much as i thought. Like you decided I liked the brand but wanted lower running costs, so getting used to 55+MPG and no road tax, along with a phonemenal 14 speaker Bose stereo to drown out the noise from the diesel which is not too bad.

Hi Steve
Currently driving a Range Rover Evoque Dynamic 2.2 auto, stunning car but having had a non start issue and the dreadful fuel consumption I will look to change as soon as there is a sportback that fits the bill. When I bought the car I had 3 cars on my wish list Evoque, A3 and Q3, didn't like the Q3, A3 range didn't really have a model that fitted the bill so I managed to drop on the Evoque back in June. Previous to this I was running a 20tdi Scirroco 170DSG which was great but a bit small for my needs, which rules out the A1 which sounds very nice, no way I would get my mountain bike in the back of one of those. 55mpg sounds fantastic, currently averaging 31 with the evoque which is way off the claimed figures of 44mpg combined, 36 urban and 49 extra urban.Oh and I drive like a nun to achieve this great average.

Actually Audi have a neat gizmo I'm looking at for the mountain bike to go on the back as an add on carrier (page 20 can't find a UK catalogue),
http://www.audi.com.au/etc/medialib...rochure.Par.0003.File.pdf/a1_acc_brochure.pdf
The A1 is the same size as the 8L A3 and Audi managed to do an amazing job inside....
Yeah we know all too well about the natural lead weight in the right foot. I seem to find that no matter whatever pair of shoes i'm wearing the one foot is always heavier than the other...
Oh and the 55 is driving briskly, if I'm really nice then best I can manage so far is 63.5. :p

Not really a fan of bike racks, I like to keep the bikes in the car for security reasons when away etc. 55mpg driving briskly ain't making me feel any better either. Ha ha

I've just added some new photos of the S-Line Sportback in Daytona Grey to my photobucket album (see the link in the first post in this thread).

Some of these were taken at the 2013 Vienna Autoshow, just a week ago.

Hope these help people to decide on colour choice!

Brilliant, thanks Dave :)
It definitely is a fine looking car, I think we'll be fine with Daytona :o.k:

I've added these pics to my iPad collection, not sure if it makes the waiting any easier though!

Cheers for the photos Dave. :icon_thumright:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this!

I was starting to think I'd become obsessive.

Glad the photos are helpful....

...and I too admit that I have been adding A3 photos to my IPad collection........about 250 of them.......ahem!

Help!
I have 524 A3 photos on my iPad.

Going to local dealer at the weekend to see the Sportback they have in the showroom!

Perhaps some more photos to add to the collection?

Hi all!

just had a look at the cars on 2013 Audi A3 Photos by daveb99 | Photobucket and was wondering what people's thoughts on the suspension set up were? Do you think it's the sline 25mm drop or just the sport at 15mm? I know fave you thought it's the sport but can't imagine another 10mm off those pics! It's be on its ****!!!

reason I ask is I've just ordered the s line with sports suspension and trying to get an idea on ride height etc!

alex

Hi Dave,

Those pics sold it for me over glacier white (don't ask)
About to order an A3 sportback s line 2.0TDI ( but might switch to 1.8tfsi auto at same price) probably going for standard suspension rather than sport.....one question to decide on after seeing pics is whether to add roof rails.

just seen you have changed colour to phantom black, is great colour as thats what I currently have on my A3, great colour but ****** to clean, would go for it again but wanted a change.

Hi,

sat in an a3 3door with sports suspension at the weekend and it is very low......going for standard set- up on my A3 sportback. Expert reviews say keep to standard for rde comfrt and will still look ok with the big 18 inch wheels

Sat in one a couple of days back, it really is a step up, very very impressed Makes current interior, which I like a lot, look very old and dated

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!....no sleep tonight?!

Should we expect to see pics soon?.....please say yes please say yes!

I've only seen 3 new A3s (3door) on the road so far..one of them is one of our company cars!

I'm told mine will be early.....but was told that with my current Scirocco...which turned up 3 weeks late.

Well the car arrived at lunchtime!
Just had time to take a quick pic on the phone before the 20 odd mile drive to the office.
First impressions are great, music from SD card works perfectly (just dragged and dropped straight from itunes).
Phone set up straightforward and Sat Nav (SD) seems perfectly adequate!
The Daytona Grey looks superb and the 2.0 tdi engine is very smooth and pulls really well.
Looking forward to the drive home now!
Very pleased :yahoo:

love it....that colour looks fantastic..especially against the Saab!..the front end looks very eager...class in a glass

Thanks for the post!

Nice , would have liked a S line but company funds would not allow .

out of interest , are your tunes on the SD card lossless and with photo art of the album covers etc

I'm sure to spot one on the road someday....probably the day I get mine no doubt!

to be perfectly honest I haven't a clue. I haven't got any artwork appearing from either SD card or iPhone 4S. Probably something I'm doing wrong or not doing at all!

Hi Rich just wondered if you have standard Sport suspension or did you request SE suspension set up? Whats the ride like? Btw great colour, my wife is insisting I buy Glacier White!! What other toys did you opt for?

Rich , you need to set the screen to reduced in one of the media menus . I did this and hey presto , artwork

...still waiting........lol

Was told yesterday mine will be here 1st week in June....which was the original date but they told me it was going to be sooner...hopes raised then dashed!
