Hello you good old lovely bunch of people!

Few quick questions if you please!

Firstly i'm replacing my coolant temp sensor and thermostat and was just wondering which is the best coolant to use - G12 or G12+? Also where to get it from?

Secondly, I'm going to be buying one of the decat/downpipes from eBay - out of the two Turbo Revs or Tuning Parts Bay is there any difference? Also does anyone know what diametes the decat steps down to as I currently have a non-res Milltek that i'd like to mate it up to without too much hassle!

Last question is I'm going to clean my injectors with an ultrasonic cleaner so just wondering if anyone could tell me which O rings I need to get and how many of?

Many thanks in advance for any help etc!

turbo revs / TPB downpipes are much the same thing mate, the generic ko3/s downpipes for around £100 seem to be very good and almost everyone on these turbos uses one.

The downpipes go from 3'' -> 2.5'' -> 2.25'' to meet the stock system.

Your milltek will be 2.5''. the best thing you can do is buy a 500mm length of 2.5'' stainless pipe with an expansion on one end, and cut the 2.25'' bit off the decat and slip the new section of 2.5 on, then offer it all up under the car and work out what length to cut off the new 2.5'' pipe.

Trim that down, and bolt it all on, and your miltek will bolt straight on without and reducers or other ********.

It's preferable to cut the 2.25'' section out totally rather than just expand up again to the cat back, I ran a 2.5'' cat back system for a while with the 2.25'' section in the decat, and from the colour of the steel you could see it was a noticable hotspot, going a much darker purple colour than the rest of the decat section.

No idea on coolant, I just ask for G12 / VAH coolant at GSF or TPS

Awesome well i'll just pick either and order tonight!

Is the stainless pipe available on eBay? Also i'm assuming the milltek will slide over the 2.5" pipe and bolt on nicely?

I'll just order some normal G12 I guess then haha!

Thank you very much for the reply Prawn - as helpful as ever!

We're actually on G13 coolant now at VAG. Replaced G12++ around middle/late last year.

Thanks Jason, so is that you in-advertently saying that I should be using G13?...

Basically lol. If you go to any main dealer or TPS you'll get G13. So ask for that.

Magic, cheers for that Jason!

Now hopefully someone will be able to tell me which O rings I need for my injectors haha!

yup, Jason is right, it's G13 now. I've asked for G12 all my VAG life though, and will continue to ask for G12 and take whatever I'm given

Milltek systems are built at 2.5'' with a flared end to fit over another 2.5'' pipe, and supplied with a reducer to work with the stock 2.25'' system. In theory, whatever you have now, the 2.25'' decat will fit into it and it'll work, but it's a far neater and nicer solution to cut out the smaller pipe and keep the 2.5'' size the whole way through.

check out pipewerx, longlife, or MIJ exhausts on ebay, expect to pay around £15-20 posted for a 500mm length with a flare at one end.

Haha I'll try to ask for G13 then! :p

Ah right awesome! So hopefully it should all mate up just nice then!

Yeah I found Jetex pipe already haha, i'll check out the others and see which one's cheapest!

Again thanks for your infinite knowledge and wisdom Prawn! So helpful! :)

Cheers Dave, you wouldn't happen to know the part number I need would you?

Or should I just be able to tell them that they're Injector O rings for an AGU?

I ordered a set from tps and they have given me 2 types (4 each)

Dealer will charge about £5 each. Tps is around £3.50 each before discount

How can they charge so much for little rubber rings, was going to change mine when I had them out for a clean but did not feel like bending over

the bottom injector seal (manifold end) are different to the top seal(injector end) bottom ones are like 70p each. the top ones different compound and a £5 each. Dont get them mixed up when fitting.

Cheers for that jezzy! :) so does jay have the correct ones as I can just go to tps and give them those part numbers :)

Also anyone got a discount code or anything that might work? Haha!

thats what i thought when i rang audi and asked.
he said the bottom ones in stock but top ones were special order.
