de chrome help offered

I am unsure if anyone has offered this before on here and know there have been many solutions to the milky chrome problem.
I have recently done mine with black gloss vinyl and want to offer people on here the kit to do it.
what to charge? thats really up to what you guys think a kit to cover the window chrome is worth. I have tried the black matt tape thing but it was difficult. have a look at mine and get in touch if you are interested.

well you can buy the proper shadow line for around a tenner
 
I'd be interested, I'm going off the plasti-dip idea.

How long does it take, and how did you get on with the fat bit at the back of the rear quarter window?

Finally, how do you deal with the edges on the long sides, do you cut it against the chrome or wrap it over?

The rear quarter window bits I removed and wrapped with abig piece. The rest I wrapped on the car. Cut the bits wider than I need cleanunder the chrome as best I can with meths or white spirit and a toothbrush. Havea flat plastic scraper handy a hair dryer and scalpel. The edges were easy withthe hairdryer. It tends to stretch more and be far more forgiving than thetape. I cut it in separate bits for the lower window bits and it’s got abacking on it. Took me about 2-3 hrs doing in properly and cleaning it and all.
 
Wattsy, do you not have to remove the rear quarter windows to get that trim off?
 
I didnt they seem to be push in clips at the bottom curve and slide in clips to the top. used a plastic scraper to gently get them off.

Reckon it's possible to do the whole lot on the car mate?

its the proper trim wrap
pre cut about 2"
same colour as whats on the BMW cars
 
Satin vinyl, sharp stanley knife and a hair drier. Don't see how a kit would be any easier, i'll be honest.
 
Just as an aside, it does annoy me when people describe these as chrome trims. They're not chrome, they're anodised aluminium, and the reason they go milky is because people don't read their owner's manual and use chrome cleaner on them.

I have never used chrome cleaner on it and never will. Its the TFR traffic film remover used in many looky looky car washes and even audi dealers damages the chrome (look) trim. thanks for the compliment. May have sold the car tonight tho. Guy going to get back to me tomorrow. New house and new arrival forces a reluctant sale.
