Was refuelling my a3 yesturday when I accidentally knocked the fuel flap... the painted cover has fallen off meaning that when its locked you can see the plastic/rubber fuel cap (the one that locks, on the hinge) and it doesnt look right.

I cant seem to figure out if it clips on or slides back on? Any ideas?

I dont understand, post a photo.

Ok I will, but basically when i shut the fuel cap now, all you can see is the side of the car and the rubber flap, the peice of plastic (painted to the cars cover) is missing.

You can see the plastic cover in this photo

It clips on, Audi dealer did it for me :) Thanks for the diagram :D

The actual black plastic hinge that the painted cover clips onto has cracked on mine (I think some muppet tried yanking it open when it was locked), which means the filler cap doesn't sit flush to the bodywork when it's closed. Can I buy this hinge on its own? It doesn't appear to be numbered on that diagram. How much, any ideas?

Cheers

Ah I see now. The hinge and the surround that it's actually attached too is sold as one part is it? Thanks

i have the same problem.

just bought a '12 plate white A3.

didnt realise the car had to be unlocked whilst opening the flat.

was a huge que so tried ripping it off and the cover (part 1 as per diagram) came off.

how much did it end up costing you?

could you buy the cover bit only or did you have to buy the whole set?

just to add on Audi dealership have quoted me £50 for the flap with another £60 to paint white

since its just a clip on andi have the cover, is there anyway of buying that little clip and sticking on the casing?
