Just replaced my front wiper blades from Bosch jobs to original VAG ones for the Bus! The VAG ones are so much quieter compared to the Bosch jobs which screeched like banshees most of the time! Am sure most of you already know this, but thought I would let you know....every day is a school day!

Yours unscreechingly,
A

How much did they set you back out of interest buddy?

When I priced them up there wasn't much in it.
Had Bosch on my Sierra and they were noisy. Genuine VAG on my Audi though.

I got a 27% discount through a Mate who works at a VAG dealership....they still were about 335sek ( 33.50 quid) plus 25% tax. They are designed differently from the Bosch ones and you can see they have reinforced lugs which keep the pressure on the screen compared to just the flexible "blade" style of the Bosch, which is I guess is where the screech was coming from.

Cheers
A

I found exactly the same thing. Couldn't believe how noisy the Bosch ones were compared to Audi ones. Well worth the extra!

Interesting, another one to add to the "don't do" list are the Halfords own make ones (Aeros btw), apart from not lasting any length of time they look like a cheap version of the originals and I was never really happy with them.

I got mine from the internet some company called wiper blades
good enough for me - and cheap less than £30

having used the Bosch for 6months... couldn't put up with the loud noise and streaks!

Have returned back to oem and they are so much better in quality and sound. Not worth cutting corners when it comes to safety.

I'm glad I'm not going crazy, I thought the same, I'll be getting some genuine one's soon.

I believe it's Valeo that make the vag oem blades. So others have been saying on the forums lol.

Couldn't post a pic of them so when I come to replace mine I won't go wrong? :)

I can second that. I bought a set of Halfords ones about 4 months ago and already they're wearing out. Utter cr@p, and proves the old adage of 'Buy cheap, buy twice'.
