In a straight line they will be equal.
Introduce an actual road and any element of driving ability and even a paraplegic dwarf would ruin an A3 in a Megane. Especially an F1.

What has been done to your A3?
It had silicone TIP, jetex cone filter, forge 007p diverter valve and a R-Tech stage 1. Made 212bhp on r techs rollers.
My friends got the F1, what a machine round corners that is.
yea as said. throw in some corners and you'll feel like youve swapped your a3 for a victorian stage coach.
I once had a ride in an f1 around an industrial estate near trafford centre - never before have i gone around roundabouts so fast in my life.
I was worried the french build quality would come into play and the door, which had my full weight mashed against it, would come off and id fly out.
Makes me wonder how much better the R26 is......

Megane's a little heavier too. But I donno, something tells me the f1's arnt to be frowned upon.
I went out in a megane f1 which had been played with, and I was very surprised. I don't think I could live with one to own but as said above my god they can corner quick! Raspy sound, punchy through the revs good brakes and I've been told quite good on fuel.I was only in it for about 45 mins though...... I bet now there a few year old nothing works on them. Good old renaults

The F1 is 225bhp. the R26 F1 is 230bhp, as is the R26R. Not all F1's are R26's it seems. ****** renault, very confusing!
I'd well believe it yea, whilst Jardo's claim of 220bhp assumes a downpipe has been fitted, 210bhp / 240lbft is entirely realistic on a st1 AUM. at around 1240kg, so 169bhp and 193lbft / ton, compared to the megane r26 at 230bhp / 230lbft, and 1345kg, so 171bhp and 171lbft / ton, so very comparable in a straight line.
Get to the bends though, and the megane would ruin a stock A3 every way possible.
I gave one a good beating! mind you, my car in the twisties is good. It was still very impressive! Then I had a go at one in the wet, off the line. My car only had a map at that point but I'd still never be ***** around one if those, people like to tune them.

My friend had an R26 and used to take it on track a lot and would beat a lot of faster cars. He said he got bored of it being so anodyne and Playstation-like to drive. He said any divvy could hop in and drive it really really quick, but that made it boring. He had a 182 Trophy before that and that was incredible, but he binned it thanks to the very mobile rear end. An EP3 before that but it drank petrol like it was going out of fashion.
Meh, give me the underdog any day of the week. Anything that is a challenge is far more fun. Especially if it's great fun at legal speeds....see my list below

Lol^^^. Heard it on radio , liked it, stole it, wore it out!
I had a R26 , I have had a lot of cars and this was the best car by miles around corners. I had it stage 2 remapped at rs tuning at Leeds and the car could still handle it.

Had to sell it when I got made redundant to get a van for work. Then when I could afford it couldn't find one but fell in love with my audi( which I'm sad to say is up for sale now ,for personal reasons . )

I have a megane r26 they have a lsd which the f1s don't. That the only real difference. It's got just under 300bhp n 330ft/lb I had a blast with my mates standard 57 s3 and my r26 beat it by bout 5-6 car lengths to 100mph same with the 54 plate m3. They are quick cars when tuned. Nothing compares to the handling tho!!
