Evening all,
Just drove home from work when my front left speaker started cracling and making all sorts of noise as if the terminal was coming loose. This was doing this with the steroe on or off and intermitantly.

When i got home on further inspection i found the front left and right speakers are not working with only the left one making these noises, the front center one still works fine.

The car is a b7 a4 avant with ehe syphoni 2 bose system. Has any one got any ideas what this could be as it drives me mad all that noise. Thanks

I'd be looking for a loose connection on the rear of the unit or the Bose amp.

Fingers crossed do you know how its wired up ie head unit to amp then to all speakers??? and are they fused?

More likely to be the Bose amp starting to fail - they suffer from dry solder joints which causes all kinds of wierd electrical noises, usually worse first thing on a cold morning.
HU to amp then to all 9 speakers. There's a main fuse but that won't be the cause
There are connection blocks behind the rubber boots between the doors and the chassis which sometimes get dirty but this will make the speaker intermittant and if you jack up the volume it usually resolves the issue.

Just a update about this problem, its all working wahoo.
I took out the amp and put the circuit board in a tray of rice and covered in rice for 24 hours (incase there was moisture ) thus the green corroction on the terminals.
I secondly resoldered the points from the main connection.

Unfortunatly i did not do one at a time to see what had actuly fixed the problem as just really wanted it fixed but thank god its all working now.
