I broke my plastic engine cover getting it off, pig of a thing to get off also the plastic pivots that it sits on had broken off
i managed to get some new pivots from VAG 8 quid and a guy on ebay is selling a cover off a 2011 2.0 TFSI
mines a 57 plate, does anyone know if the cover will fit mine or have they changed? mine is the square shaped one with the air filer built in.

thanks

Check if yours has air filter built in. Newer covers without the air filter will not fit.

By plastic pivots do you mean the rubber stoppers that join the cover to the mounts on the block?

yes mine has the air filter built in, are the newer one different

here's mine Images

no not the rubbers, the pivots that the rubbers push onto both the ones at the back had perished they screw into a heatsheild

i mean these pivots, the 2 at the back marked in red had crumbled, i have replaced them already it's just the cover i need now

Engine mountpoints

Mk5 Golf GTi use the same system.
Newer engines have totally different cover, but I believe (correct me if I'm wrong S3 users) S3's still use the style cover in your pic.

thanks they are different the guy sent me a pic.
not sure about the s3 cover it looks very similar

Don't bother. Fit a forge twin take and shut the bonnet and enjoy the noise. :p

The S3 engine cover with the integrated air filter fits the standard 2.0T.
