Just purchased a 56 plate s-line and have noticed a few issues.

1. There seems to be a bit of greyish smoke when i put my footdown, it doesn't seem to be that much or a thick cloud but definately noticeable.
Mine is the pd170 and think it has the dpf? This should stop any exhaust diesel particles shouldn't it? The turbo was replaced by previous owner using a specialist so hoping its not that going!
I need to give the car a good run and try regenerate the dpf, do you just drive at around 2.5k revs for 20mins to do this?

2. My rear washer isn't working (avant model).

3. My front headlight washer doesn't fully reclose and stays open by about 10mm and needs pushing back in. I had a quick search on google, some needed a new bumper altogether and some just required some penetrating spray to free up the mechanism (really hope this will solve it!).

4. When i turn the key in the ignition there are 3 warning bleeps. The dash doesn't show any warning symbols at all and the car seems to run fine. When i spoke to Audi they believe it may be an alarm remote battery getting low?

Any advice on any of these points will be much appreciated. Im new to owning an Audi (and a diesel) so don't have a great deal of knowledge!

Ta, Chris

2) rear wash not working could be the water pipe splitting in the rubber gaiter going from the right hand side of the rear door to the car body, just had to fix mine there, bit of a job but do able, also check to see if water is coming from above the wheel arch surround above the front N/S wheel, there is a push fit connector there that can come apart(mine did)

can't help on the others sorry

Thanks will have a check! Does the pipe run behind the n/s arch and under both doors along the sill?

Should i be looking behind the covers in the boot space?

the way i found it was to fill up the washer bottle the sit in the boot while the mrs held the rear wash on, park on some dry road(if you can find any) and have a good look for a puddle under the car

be careful coz in the boot behind the drivers side rear cover lives the amp for the sound system and it doesn't like getting wet, if the pipe has split above head lining it can run down there

Thanks for the help. Where does the line run exactly? Should be having a look at this tomorrow! Will make sure its not leaking onto the amp!

Is it possibly the jet is just corroded and not letting screenwash out?

im not sure where the pipe runs, i only found these two places coz thats where water was coming out, yea it is worth freeingup the jets with a pin to make sure they are clear. the plastic surround just pulls off on the rear wiper arm so you can get a better look at the jets

My 2.0 TDI (140) creates the same grayish smoke whenever I give it a boot full, and I would love to know the answer to that query.

I have the same recurring issue as you regarding the rear washer not working. Mine is caused by the small nozel section at the wiper corroding over time. It's a two second job to take this off, and whilst it is off try your washer and see if the fluid fires out the pipe. I normally force compressed air through it to temporarily clear the blockage.

Hopefully this will prove to be the same issue you have. Certainly beats trying to find a leak in the pipework.
