hi ive got a leon 1.8 t and my manifold has got a blow so need a new 1, am i better getting a new cast 1, seen 1 on ebay for £90 or ive seen this but not sure if it will fit 321010117025

i know this is a a3 forum but there a bi pants on the leon sit, you cant even sell or put a wanted post o there for car parts

Thats for an inline engine like an A4... the turbo flange is the wrong side... should be between cyl 3 and 4 not 1 and 2

cheers 4 that, i thought it was the wrong 1, can i get a stainless steel 1 for our engine or just the cast 1

I borrowed a fibre optic camera from work an seen its cracked on the left hand side of the bk bolt, are them cast 1's on eBay any gd, I went down the scrap yard today an they had 2 in and both them had hair line cracks in thought I might be better of getting a new 1

I had the 1 on my a4 crack as well but that was a lot easier to change, when I seen the lads at the scrapyard removing the turbo to get to get the manifold off, I don't think I want to tackle that job

K03 manifolds and turbo's are easy to do on transverse engines... can get one off in less than an hour...

i rang a garage an they said it would take 3 hrs to fit a new 1, when i seen the lads at the scrapyard removing the turbo there was a couple of brackets holding the turbo on that didnt look very easy to get to when the engine is still in the car, i thought the turbo would just drop down when you take them 3 bolts out the manifold to turbo but it dont, plus all them other pipes in the way

Turbo is supported by a bracket underneath... it will push down a bit... only needs to be enough to get a 3/8's 12mm socket and extension in to undo the nuts...

The one water pipe is attached to a bracket just under the manifold somewhere between cyl 1 and 2... this will bend down a bit too so you can get a socket in...

Its not that difficult tbh... a reasonably competent DIY'er can get it done easily...

m gonna be a bit soft an say its to cold as well to be doing, thought I would put a couple of pics on
