Posted a while back that my brakes seem to be sticking. To the extent that every now and then the front left will smoke it gets that hot.

Garage checked and said they could find anything wrong.

This morn the brake pedal hit the floor with no resistance at all. Hardly braking in fact. Yet the front left is still gettin hot as if stuck on?

WHat would cause the pedal to feel like this?

Faulty ABS pump, the valves can sieze preventing the fluid from returning to the cylinder, thus holing the brake "on"

Ok guys thanks. Wish the garage was this helpful. Just hoping ill be able to get it home after work

To clarify. Is the abs pump and abs module the same thing?

DIY job or a garage?

Sounds like the Module
BBS Reman with recon it for you.

you could always pull the module and see if that solved the problem
you will effectively have no ABS but you can still drive.

Just tape and seal the open housing when you take out the module.

front passenger wheel off job I am afraid
remove wheel arch lining and washer bottle and then torx screws on front of module

Urgh. Sounds complicated. Would removing a fuse do the same thing?

I'd rather have some braking than none at all whilst I figure out what to do... :(

Id bet its the pump not the module that's faulty, so removing the fuse has no impact as the hydraulics can still stick preventing fluid returning and / or cycling fluid within the valve block rather than allowing it to reach the brakes

That does sound more like my problem.

Seems to affect the front left more from what I can see..and feel. Red hot. Starting to fall out with this car now :(
