Hi all, can anyone tell me if the Quattro gearbox will fit in a Leon cupra r with the transfer box removed, my sons cupra r gear box needs replacing and as it’s the same engine as the s3 i wanted to know if a s3/tt gearbox would work, i believe that the transfer box has an oil feed, would it be possible to plug this or can part of the gearbox casing be easily changed, any help would be grateful,

There is a kit available from what I understand to convert it but it won't fit straight just by removing the bevel box...

You could also use the bell housing section from a fwd box but this could be expensive..

Thanks for the reply, not sure its what i'm after, i wanted to know if its possible to fit a quattro gearbox without the transfer box using the leons driveshafts. thanks Mick

..and I answered... the kit is used to block off the oil feed holes to the transfer box so you can use it in a FWD configuration... you cannot however just remove the transfer box and use it without modification..

LCR driveshafts should fit once converted... not sure what else is included in the kit but someone else asked the same question a while back and a link was posted...

Just did a quick search and this suggests you can run the box with the the transfer box connected (no prop) with 'no problems'
VWVortex.com - Convert O2M Quattro to FWD?

Not sure thats the approach I would take tbh and would require a quattro downpipe to pull off I would think as the transfer box looks like it would get in the way..

I can't find the link for the conversion kit sadly...
