Ok question for all ,
Now America has felt the force of "mother nature" and saw/felt the devistation it has caused do u now think they will give more to 3rd world countries in aid , has it been a "wake up call" as im sure i read that they give less than 2% BUT the general public think they give vast amounts more! your thoughts people????? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/comeon.gif

most americans have no idea that a world exists ouside their own continent - so i severely doubt it.

Your wrong there, they know of Iraq. What with hurricane Katrina, made worse by global warming, affecting oil production in the Gulf state, its a good job that George Bush had the foresight to invade an oil producing country. There's no need to sign a silly Kyoto agreement because there's no such thing as global warming. And for good measure, they an invade another oil producing country like ...erm... Iran just incase it happens again.

Im not anti-american but I think Bush needs to sort this out on his own, He shrugged off any warnings of global warming and Katrina is a result of it.

The American way of life is greedy, the only reason why they are in Iraq is because of oil, they dont give a **** about anything else.

Did you see bush's speech when he visited the gulf state? it made me laff as he were being told what to say (through ear piece and a PR person whispering next to him) every second word out his mouth didnt make sense and had to keep correcting himself, totally incompentant!

I feel sorry for the Black people, they are being treated like second class and the Mayor couldnt of put it any better!- he should run for president.

Whenever you see starving people on the TV, most of the time they are eating grain out of a bag with USA printed on it.

And as for Iraq, it was never going to be about Oil, the USA alone spends 3 Billion Dollars a month to keep its troops in Iraq, imagine how much oil you could buy for that.....

Just my 2 Cents.

i was very supprised how long it seemed to take the americans to get any aid to those people, you would assume help would arrive within hours weather permitting, i also think that when we get flooding etc over here, carlisle, north yorks to name but a few, the goverment would do a lot more for the victims, after all we give enough to 3rd world countries and imigrants.

how many more times is somebody going to say that the iraq war is about oil, the war is mostly revenge for the twin tower attacks and personally i am in complete and utter agreement with it, my 6x4 stars and stripes flag is ready to be flying from my house on sunday the 11th to show my support.

Afganistan was revenge for 9/11, Iraq I'm not so sure. If it were so, why not go into Pakistan where bin laden and his crew are believed to be hiding? And now Iran is under the US spotlight,

Agree with these comments totally, the guy is a trigger happy *** !. Wasn't it himself or the american minister for the enviroment that actually stated that 'Global warming' is a good thing, cause it would help warm colder climates in North America. Stupidity and ignorence on this scale makes my blood boil /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burningmad.gif

And yes, if Katrina had hit a 'White' state the support / aid would have been there pronto.

As Michael Moore said on the Jonathan Ross show a while ago:

"We are being led by a guy who is bombing a country he cant even find on the map".

Sad thing is, his way of thinking is supported by many Americans, mainly evangelists, who unfortunately are no more aware of the outside world than he is.

Its easier not to care about people who you have never met, never heard of or never visited.
