Installing Rear Tweeters - Where?

I've installed front component speakers into the doors, and the rear mid/bass component into the standard speaker hole in the rear door cards.

I've still got to install my rear tweeters but am unsure where to put them. I don't mind cutting the doorcards as they can fit flush I think. Has anyone installed rear tweeters, if so where abouts?

EDIT: I've found a picture where someone has installed them next to the release to fold down the rear seat, would this placement affect sound quality as they're aiming straight up?

Thats a silly place tbh... whole point of speaker placement is to create a sound stage... depends what you are trying to do but I always plan my system design around the driver...

Rears are more for fill in than anything... tweeters in the rear if placed incorrectly pull the sound too far back... its a bit like going to a concert and facing away from the stage... whats the point in that!!..

I have Focal 16.5cm coaxials in the rear with tweeters you can rotate to change the angle... these are enough to provide fill for the rear and clarity for anyone in the back..

RANDOM !!

Why would you install tweeters in the rear when there is plenty of decent coaxial speakers around for mid and tweet.

Or you could just destroy the parcel shelf like the last owner of mine did, and fit some 6x9's in proper 90's style
 
Plus 1 with this, fit them up in front only,rears are for filling out (tweeters are directional and will do nothing other than destroy the sound in the rear) I would personally sell them on eBay and put the monies o something else
 
Thanks for the replies.

Not interested in coax as I've already for Hertz components. The rear doesn't sound great because the mid/low speaker doesn't provide any treble obviously so it sounds a bit dead in the back.

I think I'll perhaps either fit them to the door cards or where they are in the photo I posted, but on their holders so they are facing into the car aiming toward the front.
 
I would be tempted to run wires to them and bluetac them to the areas you think you want to fit them and see how it sounds... arguably the tweets should sit high and forward of where the person will be sat to lift the stage so to speak...

As tweeters don't need to be sealed from the rear to work effectively you can at least try various positions to make sure it doen't ****** up the sound too much

Blutack, thats a good idea. I would be tempted to try and fit them at the top of the door pillar, if you can make it look presentable

Yeh im with Tuffty on this one, if you are going to stick with the tweeters then try a few different places to maximize the sound quality
