On the way to work this morning I noticed my drivers door was creeking REALLY badly. Highly annoying. Never noticed it before. Straight away i thought it would be the black rubber seals but after a quick search on this forum it was not this. Its actaully the felt like material above the window when you open the door. I read that rubbing black crayon solved this issue. So I thought why not! Found some black crayon kicking around at home, rubbed it on, went for a test drive and....NO MORE CREEKING!!!!!!!! God knows how long it will last but what a bizzare fix!!!!

Chuffed that you posted this actually. My driver & passenger windows are driving me round the bend they're creaking so much... funnily it started after i last cleaned my car about 4-5 weeks ago.
Off to find a shop that sells Crayons...

Worked a treat. How long did it last for you untill the creeking came back, if it has done?
to be honest the creck never came back for 3 years!!! but than it came back, maybe over time it got washed off or something , but than i did the crayon thing again, also what you can do also is polish or wax the body work where that felt touches i noticed that helps, but DONT do it yet as the creck has gone on yours and you might bring it on again lol, but for furture reference if it does try that also
3 years? blinkin eck thats great! 1 more question, what the hell made you try crayon?! genuis! I was close to taking the car back to the dealers about it but i just dont trust anyone with my car esp the dealers. glad i found your posts.
well i took it to the dealer 2-3 times for this and they never sorted it out, once they said "that the pressure in the cabin rises so the air escapes from the seals" lol lol i could not stop laughing at that, what they think there audis are a airship or something,so after the trips to the dealers i tryed alsorts i started to work on one seal at a time, mainly i spend more time on the window seal because when you drop the window i little it goes away so i thought it was that, but after few weeks of messing about and lots of headache i realised it was the FELT that causes it, thats when i relalised that its the FELT that rubs on the bodywork thats causes that creck, so i thought let me smooth it out, thats when i thought that let me they a croyon., and it worked!!
pure genuis mate. i too noticed right away the noise went when you put the window down. its weird because the sound it makes doesnt sound like its up where its coming from and it sounds squeeky like the rubber seals all around the door, but it isnt!!! dealers eh, dont ya just love um! NOT.
