I know unbelievable that their not protected against diesel considering their in an engine bay.

diesel will degrade rubber items like these coolant pipes, not exactly surprising being they're not fuel pipes.
fix the leak from the tandem pump gasket then fit a new pipe?

Sorry to drag this up after a while, but guess who's losing coolant through a weeping coolant hose? Same one as you Tommy. Tested tandem pump and my leak is quite pronounced.

How much was the coolant pipe from the dealer? Don't suppose you know the part number do you? (As my local Audi dealer is sometimes a bit 'special' about ordering the correct parts!)

As for your tandem pump, did you buy a new one, or just change the seals (can you even change the seals?)

One of the mechanics i use got a seal kit for a tandem pump from TPS said it was fairly cheap, never found out how much cos he never charged me for the job :)

Haha! Excellent news Dan, thanks for that.
I've been looking at tandem pumps on eBay too, so need to confirm the part number and get me one of them too! Or maybe just the seals, but I doubt you can buy only them.

Hi Mate, I got my coolant vent hose off parts depot ebay for £9.25inc p&p part number is 038 121 473, I also got my tandem pump off ebay a new original vag one for around £130inc p&p, Sods law a new original vag tandem pump finished on ebay a couple of week back for £56. Also if you do need a pump check ebay europe too i have bought a few parts from germany etc miles cheaper and never took more than 3 days to arrive. HTH

P.S. my new tandem pump ended in letter E there was some confusion whether it would fit as was'nt listed on etka but it defo does

Thanks for that, I've used partsdepot a lot, they;re quite good. Had a quick look online and can't find anyone selling one anywhere. I'll keep my eyes open but will probably go to a dealer and get it.

As for the tandem pump, thanks for the info. My car is an AVF, but essentially the same as AWX, so I'm looking for a part number with E at the end? I saw your other thread about part numbers at the end and it looks like E has the metal gasket... it take it it went on ok? Did the pump come with all the seals you need? My mechanic says my seals are gone, so wondering if they come with the pump?
