First of all big thank you to all of you for free refreshments at AITP yesterday!

(2010 A6 Le Mans with Xenon headlights)

I hope you can help me out with this. My sister starts Uni in Holland next week so we are taking her down in the A6 but the problem that have is we don't know how to change the lights for driving in Europe. Tried using the MMI but had no luck. Can you help?

Not sure, but there should be a flap on top of the lights that will it off the beam and stop it from pointing left. I can check on mine tomorrow. Failing that, deam deflectors are your friends :)

AFAIK you need VCDS to do a code change...

'Normal' Xenons, Select Control Module - 55 Xenon Range - 10 Adaptation and then use the up arrow to go to and change Channel 10 from 0 to 1. Click Save to store the new value.
or
'Adaptive' Xenons, Select Control Module - 55 Xenon Range - 10 Adaptation and then use the up arrow to got to and change Channel 23 from 0 to 1. Click Save to store the new value.

Not done this noted for my own use from others post/threads... an error is displayed on DIS when done this is normal and will correct once coded back to std settings ie uk mode...

As your's is face lift maybe "Long coding helper" or a guide box may appear...

I have a 2010 model A6 with Adaptive Xenons. I asked the dealer about changing over the headlight aim. On some models it is possible and mine is one of them. It is done using the dealer computer or VCDS. My Audi dealer quoted me about £10 to do it. My old 2006 model A6 with Xenons could not be done and I have to use beam deflectors. Luckily I had some Headlamps protectors so I was able to fit the beam deflectors to these. There are hard to clean the glue off afterwards. Be careful when removing the beam deflectors as the Headlights are plastic and can easily be damaged.
My mates 2010 model A4 with Xenons can be done via the MMI.
Hope this helps
Pete

Too True.... anyone know how best to remove the glue that those beam deflectors leave behind?

Just note though it merely lowers the beam pattern, doesnt change it to other side & it should be possible with vcds in 55 as stated with xenons of most oem type.
