When I bought my pre-facelift S3 it had the two piece lights as standard, I happened to have some one piece A3 lights kicking around so *******ised them to create a xenon A3 light for my S3! Anyhow all was good for 6 months but now getting an issue where they occasionally arn't working on the drivers side and its doing my head in, spoke to TPS today about buying a facelit shell for an s3 and reassembling but they want 900 notes as you have to buy the whole unit...not doing that as its just silly, I'm not desperately keen on buying used light as they are still going to be 10 years old and still be 400 notes so long story short does anyone know of any aftermarket lights that can run my original xenon bulbs without anymore modifications as it took me nearly a week to do it originally and I can't be doing with messing around like that again! Any thoughts appreciated
Apologies for the essay...

Let's wind back a little!

When you say the drivers side one isn't working, what do you mean?

Is it not igniting? Not levelling? Dropping to the floor etc?

I ask as it will probably be cheaper to fix the issue than shell out for two new lights!

My drivers side one used to point to the floor randomly, but a new levelling motor from eBay sorted it at £25.

As slow has said he has removed prefacelift s3 headlight unit & replaced with a facelift a3 unit.

So nothing is as it should be, IMO I'd start again with a facelift a3 unit & rewire & fit an HID kit.

He can't re use the a3 unit he has fitted due to cutting up to fit the bulbs etc from the pre s3 unit

Yo yo pat! Looking good yesterday mate! Everytime I see your motor it reminds me I need pressed plates lol
If I were to fit an HID kit would that not be a total ballac&& as essentially I already have an HID kit in the xenons? I guess what I'm saying is how do you rewire xenon fitment wiring to fit a kit instead? Pat, I can reuse the A3 lights mate because I'm a crafty so and so I made a fitting to take the xenon bulb in the back of the lights.....

Tooks, lights arn't firing up at all, the side light works so there is power going there but dipped and main beam are dead.....

Cheers dude, so both headlights are out now?
I'm home tomorrow so give me a text & pop round so we can get the meter on them
