Here is a few pics of my car that ive been using as a run about, i've owned it for a year and never really done anything to it, had some paper work with it no proof of a recent cambelt change only the guy i bought it for word, so first thing i had done was to have it done myself for pease of mind and good jobb i did, i did have a go at refurbing the wheels and painted them myself.
Anyways i hope people like it and can give advice on how to mod them etc, which ive already had alot of help from you guys regarding my dv.
Pit is a 1.8t AGU

Thanks guys, I haven't seen an a3 in this colour but I have seen an a4 in the same town as me, but I had an unlucky surprise today that someone has badly scratched the passenger rear quarter

Thanks in time I will get the wheels done professionally done, the paint code I have in the book for it is LY3Z/LY3Z

Ok guys, I want to get my car remapped soon, but first I need to get a new clutch, would I need to get an updated clutch or would a standard one be ok, I'm just looking to get around 190-200bhp

Hi guys, need your opinions I have been thinking for a couple of weeks about changing my bonnet to a black bonnet. What would you guys think? I'm wanting to do it up a bit, Your thoughts would be much welcomed, and any ideas too.

Thanks Simon

Personally I'd leave it - I'm not a fan of odd black panels on a car. Maybe the rear spoiler or roof, but not the bonnet. Just my view of course.

Wow, only the second a3 in that colour I've ever seen! The other one I've seen is sat on my drive at home!

Very cool mate :) rare colour indeed.

Cheers mate, yeah I've never seen one this colour bar mine, I don't know what to do to it now lol

Wheels spacers to improve the satance would be a good start

I was thinking that the other day, just didn't know what size to go for, seeing as alot of the s3 seem to have 20mm on the rear and 15mm on the front and seeing as the a3 isn't as wide I was thinking 15 on rear and 10 on the front?

I'm sure I saw you at halfords in redhill a month or so ago, that's quite cool. You're the only other a3 I've seen round here.

I need to get a new lower grill, but was thinking of spraying the grills black, or putting a black bonnet on it?

Hi guys, so I was thinking of turning this into a small build thread for a couple of reasons really, firstly as much as some of the issues I have with the car I still enjoy it and I've never seen another one in the same colour as mine and secondly to try and stop opening more threads asking question. This will be a slow build tbh as ill be doing this as well as try off the good flexible friends lol,

I've owned my car for nearly 2 years in the first year of owning the car I didn't do anything to it but always felt it was under powdered and so that's really when the "slippery slop " started, so thought I would get the cam belt changed, then it was onto finding out more about having it mapped, so I starting getting some bits together to help out with a map, so I bought a 3" de cat and downpipe, forge 007p, 80mm jetex filter, silicone tip, silicone turbo outlet pipe and replaced the hoses under the inlet manifold. So then I started to ask who would be good for mapping an AGU most people kept saying R-tech so I booked in and done everything they said to do before making the trip up there, very nice and helpful bunch of guys up there, being the first time that I've evr done anything like this a car before I was asking some questions after they had got the map on and finished it, came anyway with 187hp 227 ft on the standard k03 which they said was pretty good. Since then I've fitted fk coilovers, valeo smf. Prob a few oth things that I can't really think of at the moment, but my short term plans are eto get this hand hand pull that many of you know sorted out so its booked into an independent audi specialist on Friday to see if he can see what's going on, I know I need better track rod ends than what I have on there now, long term I'd like to go stage 2 and get an s3 interior, I will get pictures up as and when I'd do this or trying to fix problems that I come across. Like I've said tho it will be a slow build.

So I will be picking people's brains at sometime as there are a few things that need to be done.

I like the colour of this beasty! It's the same as my Mums tdi A3 which we got when I was 17, that started off my unhealthy obsession with A3's.

Keep us updated Si :)

Cheers prawn,

I have been hearing a knocking noise which is starting to get on my nerves I was kinda thinking that my roll bar maybe the cause of it

Can anyone tell me what size bolt to screws from the drop link to the wishbone is? The garage that done the clutch and couple of other bits have put 2 different bolts back and neither is the right one. And not really confident that they are holding properly

Driving the car tonight and when turning the steering wheel you can hear a knocking noise, and every now and then a clicking type sound if going lock to lock, the car feels like its swaying a little is this more track rod ends?

Thought I'd have a look at my diverter valve this eve to took top off and spring out the pushed the valve thing out, doe this look like it needs a service? Tbh I've never done and I bought it second hand.

This was the first reason I joined as when I bought the car I wasn't sure if this was right how the DV was setup here.

and also the DV i wasn't sure about either
Image So I managed to buy a second forge 007p with yellow spring
Image
At the same time of fitting the 007p DV I fitted the jetex 80mm neck open filter

I also bought these a couple of months ago, as my clutch release bearing went I bought the valeo smf kit at the same time I bought the fk street coilovers, two front wheel bearings, and a catch can ( which I haven't got round to fitting yet ).

Hi guys, how can you tell if an engine mount is gone / going? Last weekend I had problems with the car keeping misfiring which I sourced to the ICM got hot and a small bit of rubber was stuck to it, cleaned it and Allstate been fine, however since then I can feel a vibration on the left side and under the car like the downpipe rubbing but I know its not. I was wondering if a possible bad engine mount on the gearbox side could be a factor in my car pulling left? Also

Simon
