Finally got round to doing my RNS-e double din conversion. Sourced all the parts from ebay and got a few pretty good deals, including the cage, climate, and buttons for £60!

I got JMB retrofits to fit it all and at a very good price aswell, search for him on google! I absolutely recommend him for any type of work on your audi! Him being based 5 minutes from me helped a little aswell.

Heres the climate i sourced, got it free with the cage and buttons beleive it or not!

Then i got the satnav for a reasonable price on ebay

Once all the parts arrived i had a 'short' wait for the installation haha, but it was all worth it and executed very well!

Looks great and it really is the best upgrade to the interior.

Now selling;
Single din climate
Single din concert with chrome buttons
and a single din cage

What radio did you have in before? Do you have a pic of it? You mention chrome buttons?

Lucky boy, wouldn't mind a facelift climate unit with heated seat controls.

Alrite mate, not actually my unit but heres a pic of the same one..

Yeah i'm quite pleased about the freebie like haha! Thinking about changing the rear to a new sline bumper with s3 defuser.. Do the 5 door bumpers fit 3 doors?

Nope, pretty sure they don't. I have been wrong about various bumper compatibility though, so you might get lucky again! I think the 3-dr, cabrio and SB all have slightly different bumper mounts. Maybe you can get the diffuser section separately though (something about only the lower half of the bumper is different... again, I could be wrong).

How much do you want for it? Is it in good condition? What year car has it come out of?

Came out of a 2005 audi a3, perfect condition and works great! Just taking offers really been advised on prices but don' really have a set one, PM i you want to offer mate

It's from a cabrio, don't think they changed to the facelift switches did they? .. Either way, my cars a 2005 and the climate works fine so it's not a facelift climate

From what I can see in the pictures, the new climate panel is not compatible with your car. The old one had on the middle left button ECON, the new one is with AC.
As fat as I know it won't function as it should.

well if it works then your in luck mate! i wished the facelift one i had worked with my car. when i pressed the Auto button i just got whooshing noise and no air in the cabin

I've tested it fully out like and no issues! Hopefully it with holds! Cheerse for the concern though.. You'l know if i have a climate with heated seats for sale haha!

Nice to meet you the other day mate!

If you need any more info or anything just message me or Jonny :)

With regards to the climate it looks like its 8p1/2 with 8p3 buttons as the heated windscreens and seat buttons are the 8p1/2 ones, that's why the climate will work perfectly and that's why it hasn't for the chrome knobs.

No thats wrong, the heater systems changed in late 07 before facelift cars, they made the different climate in a non facelift chrome switches look aswell even for facelifts, so what he believes to work indeed will not, it appears to work until you change direction of the air etc & fails, clearly & explained many times now, 05 car does not have the ability to run an late 07 onward climate unit, thats fact.

I so want a sat nav unit in my car but refuse to pay the money people want

Looks well good job well done

How can i find out if it's faulty just by testing it? I don't mind switching if it's the wrong one as it's worth more than the one i'm sellin so it's a win win!

How much did you it costs you for the conversion?

It was 400 for the satnav inc delivery
60 for the buttons, cage and climate (very cheap)
And i got it fitted by JMB retrofits and he does a very reasonable price

It is alot, you're right! The factor that made me go for it was that if you sell up in a years time or so for example, the unit will still be able to sell for around the price you paid for it, eithin reason obviously.

Really is the best mod for the interior mate
