Well as i have had my AP suspension fitted now and have my Ebay special centre caps fitted (less than £13 inc P+P for all 4) i thought i would give the old girl a bit of TLC as it was sunny out the last few days.

So dug out my detailing stuff and got to work, first off gave the car a good wash and rinse to get off the winter grime. I then used my Meguairs clay bar kit and went over the whole car including the door blades and the rear bumper insert so my paint work is now uber smooth. I went to use my Meguairs carnuba wax put i think its been sat too long on the shelf as it wasnt the right consistancy when i used it so finished off what i had anyway and decided to treat myself to some new stuff.

So next day i popped into halfrauds and as they had a 3 for 2 offer on all cleaning products i bit the bullet and bought some G3 super resion wax, a bottle of Muc Off luxury car shampoo and 5 litres of demon shine pour on instant shine which wasnt too bad for £25 for the lot. Got home and used the new shampoo (it smells lovely) and then dried the car off and gave it a good coat of the wax and pretty pleased with the results. So here a few pics i took plus this has the 20-30mm drop that the AP suspension provides (yes i know i need some wheel spacers).

So clean! I have to detail mine seeing this!

looks very nice fella,

im scared to give mine a good detailing session, im sure it will show up all the car park dents :crying:

Cheers boys :)

It's a lovely car and the Ming blue does look great especially in the sunlight.

It does have a few dings and scratches here and there but nothing Ott and my wheels could do with a refurb lol.

Still can't complain as it still looks better than 80% of cars in the car park :)

As for the lowering the front has settled a bit and the pics are taken on a hill which probably doesn't help. I also think if the wheels were spaced better it would look lower this is on my to do list along with fitting my full polybush kit.

Great work mate. Get some tyre gel on those tyres. How's the suspension?

Cheers :)

Never used tyre gel, does it make your tyres look glossy?

Am pretty pleased with the suspension its settled nicely and the ride is very forgiving but defo better in the twisty bits. As a cheap alternative the shocks and spring kit was £350ish and i got it fitted for about £100 its doing what i wanted. Plus i still have the polybushes to do which should tighten it up ma bit more too.

£350 is pretty good isn't it! What kit us it?

Are you running tie bars?

Yeah i coudnt stretch to buy the B8 and H and R combo as thats like £800 before fitting so as i just wanted to renew the OEM stuff as it was 100K and 10 years old i decided to go down the AP shocks and springs route after talking to Damien from DPM.

this is the kit i got AP 30mm/20mm Lowering Springs & Shocks Suspension Kit S3 8L 1.8T Quattro 01/99> - £323.00 : The premier online mail order VAG suspension and performance specialists. We offer a wide range of all the best branded suspension and performance parts for and its £323 inc P+P

As the drop was only 20mm i didnt get tie bars but i do have a bit of negative camber now but i am hoping this maybe due to some tired OEM bushes so when i get my polybushes in it may reduce the cmaber i have if not i will look at getting adjustable tie bars.

Car looks lush mate. im thinking of getting that exact kit. dont fancy coilover and i like the extra 10 mm drop up front the ap kit offers. great work!!
