I am soon to bit fitting an arm rest to my A3, I have all the bits now after waiting for a new lid to pop up. I understand the basics of cutting the hole, lifting the centre console up to attach the bracket etc.

One thing I don't understand is, I have the arm rest in one piece, I can't figure out how to seperate the bracket so that I can bolt it down, reassemble the centre console and then attach the armrest to the bracket. I can't see what bit of plastic to remove to get to a bolt.

the bolt u need to undo should be visible below the plastic at the bottom rear of the armrest if u already have it complete. when u assemble it the bracket will go in first then the centre console then the armrest slides onto the bracket and the bolt is accessable through the rear ashtray hole. these can be a sod to sepperate though

Ahhhh I get it now. I didn't realise the bolt would be low enough to be accessed through the rear ash tray. Makes complete sense now. I have managed to seperate the bracket already, so will begin fitting tomorrow.

The inside of the armrest could do with a clean though, has anyone cleaned one? Think maybe an old toothbrush is best...

Install instructions in the stickies and console removal instructions.

Piece of cake.

Good luck

Fitted the armrest today. It was fairly easy to be honest. The screws on the side of the centre console underneath the dash don't want to seem to go back in though. Just need to put on the lid when it arrives. Thanks for the help guys.

Sorry to be a pain, but can you point me in the direction of the removal instructions??? I did a search but couldn't find the stickie.
