New RS4 now showing up on Audi UK website

Sorry have to disagree - not aggressive enough or different enough from "cooking" Audis. And the price is silly, have you seen how poor the standard spec is?

not sure about the new style grill.but will be nice to listen to !

well it ticks all my boxes!
very horny looking car indeed!
a tad expensive though! but they always are!
yet to see one in the flesh yet! but saying that, i had never seen an RS5 until last week! then seen 2 in the same day! lol! 1 white 1 blue!

yep, disappointed, not aggressive enough, needs more power to be a 'halo' car for Audi. Can't believe its only available as an estate - I can never get away from the fact that an estate is a family man's car with a dog.... wrong image - just my opinion - and I am a family man.

needed to be 550bhp to match/trump M5... lets see what BMW put in their new M3......

RS4 competes with the M3 not the M5 thats what the RS6 is for

The original RS, the RS2, and the first RS4 were only available as an Avant - so the only "real RS" is an Avant and it will always be so.

The rims are gorgeous, love them.

To be honest whilst it lacks the fat arches of yester years it's hardly a hound. They're making an art of taking an S-Line and bunging a big engine in it.

I thought you might have an Avant... saying that!

Which is exactly what's wrong with it, it lacks the visual agression that has always been a major part of the RS sub-brand.

Audi are diluting their brand(s) in pursuit of market share and while it's working for them at the moment, the market will pay them back in the long run. When you can't tell the difference between an SE and an RS, they will have totally devalued the Audi brand - and that's where they're heading.

I was reading an article in the latest Audi Magazine and they were saying they are encorporating as much of the premium model ethos into the mid range as they can as the halo effect from RS into S-Line is generating incredible sales within the mid sector for those who want the look without the running costs.

I think the argument is that it's good for people in the mid range and for Audi's broader business/profit margin, but as this is now the business model it almost means that if they built a wide arched fire spitter then the S-Line will have to try and share its looks (which wouldn't be viable), hence it's easier to tone down the S/RS.

It's a ****** cheek as it erodes the DNA of the halo models, and it's why I continue to respect BMW 'M' cars as they are fundamentally different to their school runners.

That's what Audi need to learn/remember. When you're spending £60k instead of £25k you want the car to look different as well as drive/handle differently.

Absolutely, some S-line A3's have S-Line embroidered in the seat backs from factory, do you think you get that on the S3??? Not even on the buckets. They know how important the S-Line badge is to its owners so it's on the wings, seats....! When you have the right guts under the bonnet I guess you don't need logo!

i dont like it. looks like a normal a4! Audi have lost it in my opinion as the v8 produces the same torque as the b7. it might be lighter but they havnt made any real progress

Looks wise I do like it, but power wise a little tamed.

Audi work funny as rs5s engine is now shared with rs4, no unique feature in the lump as IMHO a4/s4/rs4 should be the best and most desired range but I guess Audi prob know better.

It always has been - the only difference between the B7 RS4 engine and the B8 RS4/RS5 engine is the intake tract. It's the same block, head, pistons, crank, camshafts, ... don't believe the "marketing bo***cks" that say it's a different engine, it isn't.
