Do many of you use the MMI function to bluetooth your phone to the system?

I havent tried yet as I only bought my A6 over the weekend. The armrest included a Nokia base, but both my wife & I use android handsets (HTC).

Can anyone advise on this please?

My car is a 07 plate.

MMI?

I can't help with the Audi system but the Android OS works with my generic bluetooth stereo in my car.
I'm able to skip tracks, pause, select number via phone book, dialled, missed, received and also dial.

if you have a phone in armrest ( as i do) it is NOT full bluetooth and will not work, I have looked into this lots, the options are to disconnect phone and fit 2nd hand ebay bluetooth Audi module or buy Dension 500 which I have to give you full ipod control via the wheel and you can add the BTA1500 phone module, still need to disconnect phone in armrest. OR just get pay as you go sim for car!!! not as good but works :)

Thanks.
I do have the phone in the armrest and removed it so I could use it for storage space.
I think I will leave it for now as its not that important and my wife will generally answer my phone whilst I drive.
I have a hands free earpiece so that will do for now.

Crispin isnt quite right, just because there is a handset cradle it does not mean you dont have bluetooth.....

I have an 07 A6 with a handset cradle in the armrest for an old nokia phone which the previous owner used. I connect my HTC desire S via bluetooth to the MMI no problem at all.

Best thing to do is turn on bluetooth on your phone and look for connactions when you first start the car, if you have bluetooth and it is enabled in the car you will see the network. Just enter the PIN to pair the phone to the car.

Check if there is a Bluetooth option in the MMI menu and if so you need to switch it on, then you can connect your phone. No option then no Bluetooth. Once it switched on you will also see a Bluetooth symbol to the right of the time on the MMI display. Then you need to pair your phone as per the instructions

Thanks guys. I have the nokia cradle also. I removed that.
However during the week the car is parked and only use it on weekends mainly :)
The car was an investment for our forthcoming baby. The boot space and interior is fantastic and I cant wait to use all the functions of the car :)

Sorry Ligur I disagree, if you have the nokia GSM phone you will not have full bluetooth, you may well have a cradle fitted with a nokia adapter but that is different. We have an inbuilt nokia handset that can not be changed. Done loads of research on this.

I dont understand why Audi would not have bluetooth as standard regardless of whatever model mobile phone cradle they install.
Bit silly eh. Never mind. Too dark to go outside and play in my car. Neighbours might think Ive gone gaga :)
Will give it a try tomorrow.

Has anyone tried the green menu MMI trick? Does it do anything else besides show colours in green?

Not sure about this phone in armrest as I have never seen that, I assumed that you meant a cradle which is what was originally asked about.

Its really just a car phone...bit crap really..I spent ages looking into it but without spending a fair bit not poss.....still better to have than nothing :)

Well I just tried pairing my HTC Desire with the car and it worked. I can recieve calls and make calls. Wasnt entirely sure how to scan my phonebook with the MMI. But doesnt really bother me.
As long as I can receive and make calls then I am happy :)
Code was 1234.

According to the Audi UK microsite Tested mobile devices the contact list on both the phone and SIM on the Desire should copy over to the car. Depending on how large your contact list is it can take quite a while.

Oh right. I didnt copy the contact list over as I was kinda excited that it worked and called my wife from the car whilst she was in the garden (haha)

I will give it a try later this week to copy the contacts.

Thanks again

a couple of points

i have a a6 with a connector in the armrest for a phone cradle and the car has full bluetooth

i tried for quite a while to get my android to sync with the mmi

it wont do it without rooting the android phone - something to do with rsap on the android

i now have an iphone and the car and phone work perfectly
