I know tyre questions arise all the time
I've read lots of them
A lot of the guys on here have tried or are running Falken FK 452

What do you think to ZE912. Has anyone tried these?
Reason i have looked at these is the tread pattern seems to be a better all round one with respect to winter (snow/ice)

Maybe i am wrong, maybe they are very noisey too

I'm going to ask my local tyre shop. Just need to go with an idea rather than them selling me what they make more money on :)

First of all I've had no experience of the ZE192's. I went for the FK 452's as they were only £10 a corner more and are the successor to the ZE's so have probably hade some more money spent on design, and therefore grip. I'm in a quattro so snow/ice grip is less of a concern.
All the reviews I read suggested the FK's have lower noise levels. On the balance of cost and quality I feel like the the FK's are a great deal and I'll be buying them again......personally I cant compare them to the ZE's.
When I was searching, the ZE's did seem much harder to find.....being phased out maybe?? Could mean bargains to be had!

I had the 452's on an old 3-series and the 912's on my pervious A4. Can't really compare them directly as they were totally different cars to drive, but Falken make a good tyre for the price. I asked the exact same question as you when looking for my old A4 and seem to remember that 452's being VERY difficult to get hold of as they had (or were being) discontinued? Maybe this is not the case if the same question is being asked 2 years down the line?? I went for the 912's and had no complaints.

For the price I don't think I would've found better, good grip, pretty low road noise etc. Didn't keep the car long enough to comment on mileage from them though.

The 452's are directional and supposed to be the 'sportier' of the two tyres. They're usually in the same £10 bracket per tyre so if you want to drive it enthusiastically get the 452's, if not the 912's should be a better all-rounder.
 
Put four 452's on my Quattro..super grip,used Event-tyres.co.uk,very good price at time.no noise issues,just a great tyre for the money,would buy again.

Smae, exellent tyre, due a boot change and will replace with 452's
 
i just put 2 new Falken ZE912 on the front of my motor, grip just fine, road noise isnt bad as well, think they will get better in time too as mine is only just run-in so probly not as gripy as there gona be, he he roll on summer!!

Get Hancooks - they are better - in fact they are one of the best performing premium tyres, and generally cheaper than other top brands.

I got 4 for my S4 last month for £460 fitted - as opposed to nearly £700 for Contis and the like. The Hancooks are better than my old Contis for grip!!
 
you wont be disappointed with either. I have 452's on the front of my s4 t the moment and they still perform well even though nearly down to the wear bars.

I had 912's on my civic before and they were excellent, imho outperformed the michelins that were on it previously. Did take a fair few miles to scrub in though
 
I bought the Hankook V12's and regretted it ever since.........the standard Audi Potenza's were on before and had more wet grip when bald than the V12' s new and run in.

The V12's seem really hard and don't give accurate steering and I have no confindence in the wet.....just my 2p.

WIll be replacing them soon
 
Iv had both 452s and 912s you wont be dissappointed with the 452 good all round tyre, good grip wet and dry. 912 are more hard wearing as they are a higher tread wear rating than 452s, so they do not provide as much grip as 452s.
 
I have just put Infinity INF05 on mine - low noise - good dry grip - and £95 fitted - better than Hankooks on currently and they were £140 each...
