My plastic guard device that you lower via a lever when you want the roof down keeps coming off it's rather crappy hinge. I've looked into seeing if there is some sort of adjustment that can be done and everything seems to be fixed which leaves me having to pop this plastic thing back in place each time the boot is opened.

It is ok when the lever pulls the guard thing up but as soon as the you want the roof down and therefore use the lever to lower the guard it keeps coming off.

Wonder if anyone has any ideas before i go down the road of some elaborate sleeving system

What part is actually coming off? Is it the black plastic end of the cover which you see when you open the boot or the lever itself? I've never had any prolonged problems with mine apart from the black plastic cover not being attached when I first got it.

If its the plastic cover then there should be two plastic 'legs' on either side which clip into pegs either side of the boot... have they been snapped off or are they still there?

Yeh , its the plastic pins , they are still there but for some reason the guard/flap keeps falling out,but it does not seem possible to adjust the position of the pins to secure the flap/guard

tiger seal them on

Just looked at mine and they only appear to be fixed using a single bolt into the top of the boot. Without taking the trim off I can't see if there are any other holes you could move them to (doesn't seem like it should be necessary though).

I assume you've checked the plastic legs/feet which clip/slot into the movable boot 'roof' and they're all intact etc?

As a last resort you could remove the pins from either side, drill out the plastic pins and replace them with longer bolts or similar to get a more secure fit...

The plastic clip that has tiny wheel like things on them allowing it to move I have discovered is missing a tiny wheel on one of the sides .. replacing that i would imagine will be £££ so If there was no other obvious way to adjust, I was going to sleeve over the pin and into the receptacle by as both are plastic there is quite a loose fit.

Found the wheel thing ! ha

Removed the guard from the car and it seems like the plastic has worn away .. so simple fix from here is a metal washer and some araldite !

I took mine off and have left it like that. I don't see the need of having it there. everything still works fine.
