Right thought I'd get stuck in so the whole front of the car is off, it's up in the air and there's only three things stopping me from pulling the engine out.
1. Wiring-am I right in assuming the s3 isn't like a nice modern car with a huge 40 way connector for all the engine wiring, which you disconnect? It looks like I have to undo all the individual plugs I.e. to each injector, each sensor etc. and route them out of the engine? If so what a ball ache!!
2. If I just unbolt the turbo from the manifold is ther enough room for the turbo to stay connected to the downpipe when I pull the engine?
3. The propshaft- now I'm looking at this just a few mm from my nose so it's not the easiest. There are three bolts on each side I think. Do I need to remove all six, or is there a preferred side.
Thanks in advance

1. Not to sure but when I done mine I unplugged and marked every one
2. Pretty sure you can leave the turbo in situ connected to the downpipe but you will need to disconnect the oil and coolant lines
3. You can just undo 3 of the prop bolts and need a 10mm 12 point iirc

Not the best of answers but hope this helps ;)

Never looked on the S3 but other cars I've removed the engine from, the engine wiring loom plugs into the ECU. Unplug it from there that should release the wiring.

My experience is on cars 10+ years older than the S3!

there is 3 or 4 main plugs on the loom which will disconnect it from the bay loom, and one on the ecu left hand side iirc
