Hi all, gettin a bit bored with the performance of my 2005 2.0tfsi Quattro Avant, thinking of going back to the Golf GTI mk5, but looking at performance figures there doesnt seem to be alot in it,. (anybody owned both and can advise?)

Anyway the cheaper option is to remap, I had my mk4 GTI done by R-tech and it was a great improvement.
Will the A4 do the same? Was thinking of going to Jabba as not to far away (i'm in Norfolk) Any views?

Also my Golf had only covered 40k and the Audi has done twice that mileage, do Clutches play up after the remap as dont fancy the expense of a new clutch.

Any views/advise would be great.

Remap makes a big difference. Will always be top of the list next time I get a new car, makes it seem like a different beast. Much more fun to drive.
Not sure on clutches, luck of the draw maybe, but mine had a new one at 40k. A Remap can make issues more prominent as greater strain is placed on components. I'd be more worried about the dual mass fly wheel at that mileage.

Anybody else had flywheel issues after remap or even before?
It does look like a very expensive job to replace.

i have a mk5 gti at the min with jabba remap and to be honest i would never ever ever use jabba for a map even if they were the only place to map cars id walk
stick with the a4 i always have a4's this was a good deal 05 82k red full of toys KW coild full miltek auto this auto that tpms nav etc etc £3600 you can see why i went for
it will be for sale soon

stage 1 map will be ok on your clutch the miles you have on the a4 is nothing keep it map it enjoy

Cheers bez, how do you find the mk5? And what your view on the dual mass flywheel giving issues?

Also why walk away from Jabba? I have a revo agent nearby but is a few quid more.

the dmfw will last well with a stage 1 map
as long as your not launching it every 2 minutes on my old 2001 18T its on 174k and its fine oem clutch
i say that about jabba as iv had 1 done myself and just had so many problems had it took off and a new map on
this mk5 gti that i got with the map well it was over fueling jerky slow boosting to 9psi
did all normal checks swapped parts etc and yet again the map was just crap so thats due to be took off in a few days when the hybrid K04 is finshed
and when we realised it was the map we spoke to them and they wanted to charge for checks cos as they say there maps are 1 of the best and never **** up

but im sure and know of a few ppl that have used them and they are very happy with the maps they have got

the mk5 is a good lil car even tho is was running a bit crap its good my last a4 was hybrid K04 so when the golf is finshed with the same power as the a4 its gona be realy fun to chuck around

Remapping a car is the best performance for money you can get and even improves the mpg!

I had my last car (Seat Leon Cupra R) stage 2 mapped by JabbaSport, and it was fantastic, would highly recommend them. Plus living in norwich also its not far to travel for the cost saved over clive atthowes revo maps.

Only problem I had was that I asked them to map out my 2nd lambda probe as told them I would soon be purchasing a decat pipe after the map. But fitted one and they hadn't mapped it out. A couple of days later they actual came out to me and mapped it out. So ****** good service when you consider it, and at no cost for time and fuel and work.

I am wanting to get my s3 done but I'm not sure if they do these, and as Im not ready for stage 2 yet, I'm slightly swayed towards revo as they charge less to go to stage 2 when ready for it.

BUT, if your not planning on tuning it anymore after the map then 100% choose jabba.

Sorry to hijack a thread but I have an A4 Avant Quattro s-Line (05 B7) auto, how will an auto box stand up to a stage 1 remap?

The auto box will be fine with a stage 1 remap. I can offer remaps with an sts unit so no need to travel. We also do stage 1, 2 and 3 remaps (2+).

Drop me a pm for info or look in the sponsors sub forum, it's a lonely place down there ;)
