Basically guys, i've just been out washing the car and i've noticed that there are two small rust spots just above the windscreen.

Now my question is would i be able to claim with Audi under the Anti-Corrosion Warranty if not, how would i go about stopping it!

Pictures to follow shortly!

Is anti corrosion 12 years??

Excuse the water marks, it's too cold outside! :undwech:

That's what I was thinking, but the front of my car has got major road rash and yet not a single one of them chips has developed rust?

If it helps the car's also got full Audi service history.

Agreed, could just paint on some hammerite kurust and then apply some touch up paint..?

I'm gonna have a go and see what Audi say, if not ill just do as you said to stop it from spreading.

Worth a try but doubt they will do anything. I have a few spot on the passenger rear arch, probably from stone chips but never went to Audi. Too much hassle esp after the fuss they made with the hesitation issues. As above do the stop rust and touch up. Can always smooth it out with a rubbing compound.

But you may be lucky so worth a try.

Yeah it is 12 years warranty, so worth a try!

If you don't get anywhere with Audi, the suggestion of kurust is your best bet.

Will stop the rust forming and spreading, finish off with a gen touch up kit.

I'm pretty sure that the anti-rust warranties are against perforation rust from the inside? :3sadwalk:

As has been said its a perforation warranty, sorry

Thanks fella's look like i'll just have to do as mentioned above.

hi, im new to the forum, but have plenty of experience of dealing with rust on my last car (22year old celica)
POR-15 is the best permanent cure for rust. £16 for a starter kit.
BLACK POR15 POR-Starter Kit | Frost Auto Restoration Techniques

por paint is applied with a brush, but dries perfectly smooth +dries as hard as glass!
when its fully hard, you are hard pressed to sand it.

don't think they will be covered tbh mate but as said got to be worth a shot eh let us know the outcome

I was doing the same thing on the weekend and came across some under the paint on my passenger door. Not sure how you'd get stone chips on the passenger door so hopefully i could get mine sorted? What you think?

Overtaking on a 2-lane road and stones get kicked up from the car you're overtaking, maybe? I doubt they'll pay out.

Ive noticed that mine has started to rust slightly at the very bottom of the wheel arches on the front, 2004 reg, would this be covered by audi's warranty does anyone know?

probably not stones, but car park scum bags opening their doors into yours?

Just heard back from Audi about the spot of rust on my passenger door, it's covered under warranty:icon_thumright: i couldn't be more happier!! As it's close to the front of the door (door hindge) do you think they'll do my wheel arch at the same time? There taking it for 2days they said, didn't realise it took that long.

I found some rust in the same place you were talkinng about DJ, will give Audi a call tomorrow!

I've also got rust bubbling under the paint work on my 56 plate - it's on the bottom of both the passenger and drivers door. I took it to the local dealer - apparently there's a good 30 minutes worth of paper work to fill in (I arrived just before closing time, so offered to call back another time rather than keeping him behind)

He told me that he's got to write a report, send it off to Audi UK, who will then get back to him with their chosen course of action. He reckons they'll have no choice but to sort it out though (presumably because its clearly not been caused by stone chips), which was a relief.... it's only 4 or 5 small spots, but I figured it's only going to get worse so I want it sorted!

Well mine, you could see the rust!! It looked like a stone chip in all fairness but i said to them i was cleaning the car and the end popped off and revealed the rust. I personally wasn't expecting them to do it, i thought they'd fob it off saying it was a stone chip. I was just about to go into Audi and ask what they were playing at when i pulled into their car park i got a phone call from them. hahahaha

iv a 2001 a4 theres rust cuming from behind the paint about a 50p piece size can i claim or am i flogging a dead horse lol
