8L bootlights; higher wattage festoon lamp alternative?

Mabey it's just the winter when I'm fooling around in the dark and I think "these lights are p*sh" or mabey it's just they are p*sh.

Whilst in my local-generic-automotive-parts-retailer at the weekend trying for some alternative festoon 5W lamps to replace the ones in the boot, I saw 10W ones in the same size format.

Has anyone ever tried replacing their bootlights with the higher wattage version?

Not a very macho/performance-mod thread to start, I admit; but it's bothered me for a while...


I just wondered in the way that the use of LEDs (these are not LEDs but they will pull a higher current) freaks out ceratin things in these cars sometimes whether anyone has knowledge of it...?
