I guess its possible some water could have got into the electrics for the roof maybe ? Did the valeter use a high pressure hose? Has the roof done this previously ?

I would say whatever the reason, a trip to the stealers is in order... :(

Went back to to the car wash said they did not power wash the roof,no proof left it with them.. my fella going mad at me for leaving it with them what can you do.any body know good Audi specialists around Manchester area not going to dealers.

I'd take it to the dealers to find out what's up with it. They'll probably know in 5 minutes. Fault diagnosis will almost certainly be free ? (I've certainly never paid for it in my life)

Then, once you know whats wrong with it, its up to you who you use and where you go to fix it ?

I take it the car's over 3 years old?

That's a good idea ,might try that .car is 3and half years old something you would expect from Audi ...

Are you sure??!! My dealer charges £95 hour as soon as the car is in the workshop!

You lucky people living outside the London commute :) Guildford Audi was £160/hour in 2010.....last time i used them.

Well, I've NEVER paid for what I'd call basic or obvious fault diagnosis from any other marque.

Mind you, this is my first ever Audi....:)

Somebody told me to disconnect the battery and leave it for a few hours and the ecu might reset the roof sensors, tried it and it isn't worked.. still making motor sounds around windowscreen but not unlocking ...even though the weather is pony it drives me mad knowing that the roof does not go down, just depressed my self more by watching holiday DVD of touring Italy with the roof down..by the way does anybody know what the difference is between sport and s/line specs....

Why don't you just take it to an Audi specialist? Or if the car is particularly sentimental just bite the bullet and go to Audi?

Prepare to be surprised. Very surprised.

Haha. Oh dear... :)

Maybe the lock latches have siezed?

Seriously, whats the point of it doing your head in by not knowing? I'd be having it into a specialist or dealer pronto. Surely if you can afford a 3 year old cab, you can afford to get it looked at ? ? ?
